Some programs have an English language requirement while others do not. Some may require certain prerequisites such as calculus or statistics before you can be accepted into the degree program of your choice (although these are often offered as electives).
Depending on what degree you’re pursuing, some schools also look for work experience in related fields; for example: if you’re interested in becoming an accountant then it wouldn’t hurt to get some experience working at an accounting firm or even volunteering at one since this would show that you’re serious about what you want to do with your life!

- Some programs have specific requirements, like specific grades in high school subjects or certain scores on standardized tests.
- Some programs have prerequisites. These are courses that you must take or have already completed at the time of application to the program. For example, some programs require students to take English, math and science courses before they can apply to those specialties. If you don’t have these courses on your transcript, then we won’t accept your application until they’re finished.
- Some programs require students to take one or more assessments that measure their skills in certain areas (e.g., reading comprehension). This could be as simple as an online test or as involved as several hours spent with an assessment specialist who observes them working through tasks related to literacy skills and problem solving ability (also known as “assessment centre”).
- You may need additional documents depending on your circumstances (e.g., previous post-secondary education).
