Admission Requirements Kisiwa Technical Training Institute
Kisiwa Technical Training Institute offers a wide range of courses that are designed to meet the needs of our students. We ensure that all our courses are well structured to enable them acquire the skills and qualifications needed to get employment as soon as possible. Our courses are designed in such a way that they can be completed within six months or even less if you have your own transport means.
All Diploma, Artisan and Craft Certificate applicants must be from Kenya and should have the following qualifications;

- Be a citizen of Kenya.
- Have a KCSE certificate with a minimum C+ in English and Mathematics.
If you do not meet these requirements, you can still apply to Kisiwa Technical Training Institute through our vocational training program. You need to be at least 17 years old with no university degree or 50 years old with no diploma or certificate level qualification.
To be admitted to pursue Craft Certificate Courses, a candidate should meet the minimum entry requirements for admission to the respective Course.

Candidates are required to satisfy the following criteria:
- Have a minimum of O-level certificate with a minimum of C+ grade in English and Mathematics.*
- Passes Craft Certificate Entrance Test (CCET).
- For computing purposes only, subjects passed by candidates at their previous school shall be considered as approved subjects provided that they have obtained at least a pass grade in each of them (O level).

- A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate with a C+ grade or above in Biology or Chemistry plus one other relevant science subject or an equivalent foreign qualification.
- A certificate of completion of a relevant course with at least 50% marks and two years relevant work experience at an institution recognized by Kisiwa Technical Training Institute or any other institution approved by Kisiwa Technical Training Institute
Kisiwa Technical Training Institute has three categories of courses and they have different admissions requirements
Kisiwa Technical Training Institute has three categories of courses and they have different admissions requirements.
The first category is the National Certificate (NC), which is a two-year capacity building program offered at Kisiwa Technical Training Institute, based on the national curriculum.
The second category is a one-year training program in carpentry, welding/fabrication, masonry and plumbing. Students who successfully complete this course will be awarded with a national certificate (NC II) certificate in their respective area of specialization. The third category is a four-year diploma programme where students will study full time for four years and graduate with a Diploma in Commercial Catering Management or Accounting Technology or Business Management Studies in addition to other specializations such as Tourism Management, Human Resource Management etcetera
Students are required to take an entrance exam before they can be admitted into any course at Kisiwa Technical Training Institute
