Arizona State University

Arizona State University offers a number of affordable nursing programs. If you’re interested in getting your Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, the university offers a BSN program that costs $9,834 per year. The university also offers an RN to BSN program for registered nurses who already have their Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing. This program costs $10,039 per year and can be completed completely online or on campus.

If you’re interested in pursuing a Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration, the university offers a Master of Science in Nursing program that is completely online and can be completed within two years. The program costs $10,972 per year and includes 39-48 credit hours of coursework depending on whether you already have an MSN degree or not.

Thomas Jefferson University

Thomas Jefferson University is a private college that has campuses in Philadelphia, PA, and Center City. The university was established in 1825 as a medical school and is ranked as one of the top 10 nursing schools in the United States.

The University of Iowa is a highly respected, public research university located in the city of Iowa City, which has a population of about 150,000. The university is known for its strong liberal arts community, and as such offers many diverse educational opportunities outside of nursing. Iowa City has been designated a UNESCO “City of Literature” in part because it’s home to the International Writing Program; the Writers’ Workshop at the University of Iowa was ranked number one by U.S. News & World Report; and several Pulitzer Prize-winning authors have attended or taught at the Writers’ Workshop. In addition to being an excellent school for nursing students who are also interested in literature and/or creative writing, it’s also an excellent choice for students who have other passions or interests that they’d like to continue pursuing while there.

Finally, if you’re looking for an affordable nursing program at a respected institution, consider attending the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB). UTMB has been around since 1891, so it’s not going anywhere anytime soon—and it can be considered one of America’s most prestigious medical schools (it was ranked number 32 by US News & World Report). It’s worth noting that when you apply to UTMB as an international student from abroad (outside of Canada), you’ll generally need your own health insurance plan—and you’ll also need to pay out-of-state tuition if you’re from outside Texas. Still, if this doesn’t dissuade you from applying because UTMB sounds like your dream school for whatever reason (they’ve got intelligent squirrels! there are beaches nearby! cute town!), then go ahead and make those dreams come true!
