But what does this mean? Some schools have launched programs that offer free tuition in exchange for a commitment to work in the field after graduation. For example, Maryville University of St. Louis offers full-tuition scholarships to three students per year who commit to working at a participating hospital after graduating from their program; other schools offer similar programs where they will pay your way through school if you agree to work at their facilities after graduation. These types of scholarship programs may also include scholarships specifically reserved for nurses coming back into the workforce who’ve been away from school for a while, or those interested in working with specific populations like geriatrics or pediatrics.

There are also scholarship funds available through various organizations and foundations that are not necessarily linked directly with one particular school or facility; these opportunities may be based on merit (such as academic achievement) or need-based (based on financial status). Additionally, there are scholarships available through healthcare organizations such as Children’s Hospital Colorado that can help offset costs associated with receiving an advanced degree in nursing.

Covid-19 has taken a toll on the country, but some companies are trying to give back to those who are helping fix the problem.

Many states and organizations are taking action to help their communities. Here are a few examples of companies that have offered free tuition or grants for college students:

• In April 2019, Cleveland Clinic announced that it will offer tuition assistance for any employee seeking to advance in nursing. This program is part of the company’s goal to become the safest and most affordable healthcare system in the nation. After receiving this news, many other companies began offering similar programs.
• During the pandemic, New Jersey’s largest nonprofit hospital, RWJBarnabas Health, is offering free tuition for those in its vascular surgery program who want to complete their studies and become an RN. They also created a new scholarship fund for those already working as nurses at one of the hospitals within the RWJBarnabas network. The grants can be used toward non-clinical education programs like nursing assistant classes or bachelor’s degrees in any field other than nursing; however, if you’re interested applying for one of these scholarship programs make sure you meet certain requirements before submitting your application because they’re only available through select schools/colleges (e.g., Rutgers University).

According to a statement released by the university, this new program was created in response to the “critical nursing shortage” that’s affecting health care centers worldwide. As part of the program, students are required to serve for at least three years as registered nurses at one of 37 hospitals within Virginia’s borders. If they do not fulfill this requirement, they’ll be required to pay back all scholarships received from the university during their four years of study there.

Criteria for the scholarship

Applicants must be graduating from an Ohio high school with a minimum 3.5 grade point average and minimum ACT composite score of 29 or SAT total score of 1300, have practiced 40 hours as a certified nursing assistant (CNA), and have 30,000 hours planned to work as a registered nurse after graduation.

Benefits

This scholarship covers the annual cost of tuition, books, supplies and lab fees for the four years that students are enrolled in the UC College of Nursing. Additionally, students receive access to tutoring/mentoring services provided by UC faculty as well as housing scholarships if they live on campus during their freshman year.

Eligible applicants can receive up to $15,000 per year in scholarships, which will be applied towards their tuition or housing expenses on campus.

Since schools are not offering free tuition to all students, you’ll want to apply for scholarships in case you don’t qualify for your school’s program. If you’re attending a nursing school that offers free tuition, and your GPA falls outside of the minimum requirements, or if you’re transferring in with too many credits to be considered a freshman or sophomore, then applying for other scholarships will help cover the costs of your education.

There are thousands of scholarships that don’t have any restrictions on who can apply. Some scholarships are based on financial need, academic performance, community service, athletic ability, or other criteria. By doing some research and applying for as many scholarships as possible, you’ll increase your chances of receiving funding towards paying for college costs.

Even if you can’t find scholarships for your school, you can still apply for other scholarships that don’t have restrictions.

Each scholarship has its own set of criteria for awarding money, and not all scholarships are available to any student who applies. Some scholarships are restricted to students from a certain region, while others are restricted to students who are studying a particular field. If you can’t find scholarships that fit your needs, don’t give up! Even if the school you’re attending doesn’t have scholarship opportunities for your financial situation, there may be other groups in your community or career field that do offer funding.
