Mamata Medical College was established in 1987 by Prof Srinivas Reddy and Dr Peddireddy Chandramouli with an initial intake of 100 students per year and only five departments: General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology (OBGY), Pediatrics and Orthopedics along with Basic Sciences in its curriculum.[1] The institution became autonomous on 3rd December 1994 under Department of Medical Education & Research (DMER) as per GAP guidelines[2], which are followed by all private medical colleges in India till date.[3]
