Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is one of the most prestigious universities in the United States. Previously known as the Georgia School of Technology, Georgia Tech was founded in 1885 to train engineers and scientists for industry. Today it has a diverse student body and an extensive list of majors; the acceptance rate is 25% in 2021.

What makes Georgia Tech appealing to prospective students is that it’s a relatively inexpensive option to other major universities; however, its campus life opportunities are unmatched by virtually any other school outside of New York City or Los Angeles. University of California at Berkeley

The University of California, Berkeley accepted a record low 15.7 percent of its regular decision applicants for the freshman class of 2021. The overall acceptance rate for the school was 17.9 percent, down from 18.3 percent for the previous year’s class (the entirety of which has already enrolled). UC Berkeley received a total of 61,976 applications and admitted 5,951 students—more than any other four-year university in the United States.

After raising admission standards last year to curb rising student populations at several of its schools, UC Berkeley—which has long been ranked as one of the most highly rated public universities in America—decided not to lower them again this time around despite receiving an additional 2,000 applications over last year’s admission cycle. To give you some perspective on how high this number actually is: it’s about two-thirds more than Harvard received in 2016 and almost 3x as many as Stanford received during its last cycle two years ago. With that being said you can bet that Cal was looking closely at all those extra applications; its acceptance rate was lower than any other school in the country except Harvard (14.6%), Yale (16%), Princeton (16%), and Stanford (17%). The average GPA among those admitted students was 4.18 and average SAT score was 1470/1600 (99th percentile).

Berkeley accepts only 4% more students through their early action program than they do through regular decision; this means that if you’re applying early to Cal even if your GPA or SAT scores are lower than what they were looking for during regular decision you still might have a chance to be admitted while there is still room available in their freshman class!

University of Virginia

The University of Virginia (UVA or Virginia, commonly referred to as ‘UVA’) is a public research university in Charlottesville, Virginia. Founded by Declaration of Independence author Thomas Jefferson in 1819 as a land-grant college and the first university in the United States to be established by legislative action rather than by royal charter, it is also the first university created without state backing since the American Revolution. The original governing Board of Visitors included Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe. UVA has grown into an academic and cultural center for surrounding Albemarle County and Central Virginia, with an economic impact estimated at $4.65 billion annually, including indirectly affecting other businesses which benefit from its workforce.[3]

The University has been recognized by a number of publications that rank universities on their contributions to society.[4][5][6] UVA also has top programs in Nursing,[7] Business Administration,[8] English,[9] Psychology,[10] Fine Arts,[11] Law[12], Education[13], and more. As of 2018, UVA’s total enrollment was 23,579 students: 14% are minorities; 55% women; 38% men; 14% self-identify as LGBT.[14][15][16][17][18]

Carnegie Mellon University

Carnegie Mellon University, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a private school with a charming campus and an excellent reputation for its graduates. The university is known as one of the world’s leading institutions for computer science and many of its graduates are employed by famous technology companies such as Google. In 2015, Carnegie Mellon was listed as having the 10th-best college newspaper in the country by Princeton Review; since then it has maintained a top-ten status on this list.

University admissions are handled by the school’s Office of Admission, which uses several factors to determine which candidates have been accepted. This includes high school GPA and SAT or ACT scores, recommendations from teachers and guidance counselors, and the content of students’ personal statements. Harvard’s undergraduate program accepts about 6,000 students each year—applicants must apply to be considered for admission as an undergraduate student. For those who aren’t interested or able to pursue an undergraduate degree at Harvard, the school offers graduate programs that cover a wide variety of subjects including public policy, music performance, and medical research.

The factors affecting college admissions are largely subjective and vary from one university to another. Even though colleges like Harvard and UVA have similar goals when it comes to their student bodies, because they use different criteria for admissions decisions, one school might accept a candidate who another institution rejects. However, admission requirements between different universities are more alike than not.
