In 2013 it became an independent institution called University College – Jacksonville (UCJ) with its own Board of Trustees but still under UF’s authority as part of UF Health. It later changed its name to Florida-Georgia College for Health Sciences in 2014 when it began offering two new graduate programs at Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield near Savannah Georgia and Macon Georgia.
