University of Virginia.

• University of Virginia. If you are age 21 or older, you can use life experience to earn credits at the University of Virginia’s College Accelerated Program (CAP). To do so, you must submit an online application, a resume, and a letter of recommendation from someone who has supervised your work in one or more related fields. A GPA of 2.5 or higher will be required as well. You must also have at least 30 college-level credits from an accredited university or college on your transcript before submitting your CAP application.

Columbia College.

Columbia College has a life experience program that allows students to earn up to 30 credits by using their life experience. Students must take a course in the subject area of their life experience as well as have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to participate in this program.

American Intercontinental University.

American Intercontinental University (AIU) is a for-profit school that offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate and Certificate programs in business, education, communications and technology. The school has been accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC).

The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) has accredited AIU since 1992.

Norwich University.

The first of the schools on our list is Norwich University.

Western Governors University (WGU) is a nonprofit, online university that offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the following fields:
