Homeschooled students are a unique demographic in the college admissions process. Many colleges don’t have any experience with homeschoolers, but the few that do offer admission to them can help you get started on your college degree. Homeschooled students may need to take an extra class or two before starting college because they didn’t take certain classes in high school that traditional students would have taken, but once you’re admitted, colleges will work with you to get started on your degree as quickly as possible!

Hannah Montana recognized by Evergreen

Hannah Montana was a popular TV show that aired from March 24, 2006 to January 16, 2011. The show followed the trials and tribulations of Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus), an ordinary girl who found out that she was actually Hannah Montana—a pop star with millions of fans all over the world. As Hannah Montana, she sang songs about teenage life and friendship.

The show featured several other characters: Lilly Truscott (Emily Osment), Oliver Oken (Mitchel Musso), Roxy Roker (Ashley Tisdale), Robby Ray Stewart/Robbie Ray Ventura/Robbie Ray Smith/Robert Ray Green Day (Billy Ray Cyrus), Rico Suave (Davi Santos), Jesse McCartney, Demi Lovato, Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez and Zac Efron.

This school is great for homeschoolers because it offers a range of programs and courses that can be completed online. It also has a number of scholarships, including ones for homeschoolers. To apply, simply fill out an application (which can be found on the school’s website) and submit it along with two letters of recommendation, your high school transcripts and ACT or SAT scores. The cost of attending this college will vary depending on whether you want to live in dorms or not; there are also several ways to pay your tuition—including loans, grants and scholarships.

This university has an application process that allows homeschooled students to submit their official scores from standardized tests (the SAT or ACT), transcripts from their previous schools, as well as two letters of recommendation from previous teachers who know them well enough to speak about their academic abilities. If selected by admissions officers at College B after reviewing these materials along with their standardized scores then applicants will need to send their official high school transcript so that it can be evaluated against those already submitted during initial review stage before being accepted into one of its degree programs (if admitted).

Brigham Young University – Provo, UT

Brigham Young University (BYU) is a private university owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). It has a strong emphasis on undergraduate education and conducts research in many areas. Students who attend BYU are required to follow the Honor Code, which includes abstaining from alcohol use and extramarital sexual relations.

University of Wisconsin-Madison – Madison, WI

Homeschooled students who wish to enroll in UW-Madison must submit the following to apply:

• A completed application for undergraduate admission, with any required updates.
• A high school transcript that includes at least five semesters of history/social science courses and four semesters of math courses as well as two years of a foreign language or American Sign Language.
• A standardized test score report from either the ACT or SAT (taken within three years), with scores that meet UW-Madison’s minimum requirements (see below).
• Two letters of recommendation from teachers or other school officials who are familiar with your academic performance and your character.

UW-Madison also requires all students—both homeschooled and traditional—to demonstrate English proficiency by submitting scores from either the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).

George Mason University – Fairfax, VA

George Mason University (GMU) is a public research university located in Fairfax, VA. Founded in 1957, GMU has an acceptance rate of 50% and offers bachelor’s degrees, graduate degrees and doctoral degrees through its 12 colleges. It also provides students with funding opportunities such as scholarships and grants.

Thomas Edison State College – Trenton, NJ

• Thomas Edison State College is a two-year public college located in Trenton, NJ.
• It was founded in 1887 and is named after Thomas Edison, who helped found the institution.
• The school has an open admissions policy and accepts homeschoolers on their own merits.

Oakland University – Rochester, MI

Oakland University is a public university located in Rochester, Michigan. The university is a member of the NCAA Division I and participates in the Horizon League for sports.

While Oakland does not have a specific homeschooler admissions policy, it does admit applicants from all over the country who have graduated from high school or have passed an equivalency exam (GED).

Clackamas Community College – Oregon City, OR

Clackamas Community College is a public community college in Oregon City, Oregon. It is part of the Oregon Community College System and has a student body of over 14,000 students. It offers over 100 degree and certificate programs.

Homeschooled students can get a college degree.
