Washington University in St. Louis

Washington University in St. Louis is a great place for LGBTQ students and allies. The school has a strong LGBTQ community with a number of resources and support groups available. There is an undergraduate group called the Rainbow Alliance, which works to promote diversity and inclusion on campus; an annual Drag Show that raises money for local organizations; and an LGBT Center that provides internships, career services, counseling, health information, educational opportunities (such as conferences), and more.

In addition to these groups, there are also resources available through WashU’s Office of Student Concerns & Accessibility Services (OSCAS). This office offers counseling services specifically designed for LGBTQ students who may need additional assistance or support with issues like coming out or identity development; they also provide education around appropriate language use when talking about sexual orientation or gender identity/expression; they provide training sessions so staff members can be better prepared when supporting students who identify as transgender or gender nonconforming; they maintain an active social media presence where questions can be answered via hashtag (#WUSLsocial) or live chat platform called Zoom!

Wellesley College

Wellesley College, located in Wellesley, Massachusetts, is a private women’s liberal arts college. The school was the first women’s college in the United States to grant degrees to women. It was also ranked as the #1 “Best National Liberal Arts College” by U.S. News & World Report in 2016 (and has been ranked within the top 6 since its inception).

Bowdoin College

Bowdoin College is a small liberal arts college in Maine that has a reputation for being LGBTQ friendly. The school has a strong LGBTQ student group, which includes over 400 members and hosts events such as the annual Queer Prom and the Rainbow Reception to welcome new students in the dorms. It also offers education programs such as one called “Transgender 101” aimed at helping students understand trans identities better.

In addition to its inclusive practices on campus, Bowdoin has a strong faculty and alumni presence in the LGBTQ community: Professor of English Michael Bronski was honored by GLAAD this year for his work on behalf of LGBTQ equality; former Bowdoin president William DeWitt Hyde III was appointed by President Obama to serve as ambassador to Austria from 2009–2012 (where he raised awareness about human rights abuses against gay people); and alumnus Matthew Shepard’s parents established an endowment fund there after their son’s death in 1998.

Williams College

Williams College is a private liberal arts school that’s been around since 1793. It’s the oldest institution of higher learning in the state of Massachusetts, and it boasts a beautiful campus and rigorous academics.

Williams College is also known for its amazing Greek life. There are several fraternities, including Phi Delta Theta, Alpha Delta Phi (the first fraternity to accept gay members), Chi Psi (all-male), Chi Phi (all-female), Kappa Sigma Epsilon ((same goes for this one)) and Lambda Chi Alpha.

Emory University

Emory University is a private research university in the Druid Hills neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. It is the second-oldest institution of higher learning in Georgia and among the 50 oldest private universities in the United States. The university consists of nine academic divisions: Emory College of Arts & Sciences (ACAS), Oxford College, Goizueta Business School, Laney Graduate School, Candler School of Theology (CHC), Rollins School of Public Health (PHR), Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing (NHS), Claire Trevor School of Arts & Communication and the Graduate Schools programs.[1]

Tufts University

Tufts University is located in Medford, Massachusetts. With a total enrollment of just under 10,000 students, Tufts is a relatively small university with an intimate feel. Amherst College is a private liberal arts college in Amherst, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1821 as an all-male school and became coeducational in 1975. It is a member of the Five Colleges consortium and is a member of the Ivy League.
