It’s used by universities and training providers to evaluate whether you have the necessary English skills to succeed in an academic setting or on the job. University of the Pacific
University of the Pacific accepts TOEFL and PTE scores.
Pacific also accepts SAT scores.
Pacific will also accept ACT scores.
Pacific also accepts AP scores if they are taken within 2 years of application, but they must be sent directly from College Board and not a third party organization like your college counselor or counselor at another school who took the test for you.
Pacific will accept IB scores if they are sent directly from CIE (International Baccalaureate) with original signature in English on all documents as well as original signature on score report page by High School Headmaster/Principal or Regional Officer for Southern California; otherwise these are not accepted!
If you don’t have any of those, Pacific may still consider your application based on other factors such as essays, recommendations etc., so don’t give up hope!

CSUN does not accept IELTS. We require TOEFL or IELTS for all non-native English speakers. The minimum score for the TOEFL is 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based) or 90 (internet-based). You may also submit scores from previous versions of the test, as long as they reflect your current level of proficiency in English and are less than 2 years old. The following IELTS scores are equivalent to a 550 on the paper-based TOEFL: 6.5 overall; 7 in reading; 6 in listening; 6 in writing; 5 in speaking. If you have taken an older version of either exam and your scores do not reflect this level of competence, we recommend retaking it prior to applying so that we may consider your application more fully based on current standards
