Many colleges and universities require students to have a certain minimum grade point average (GPA) in order to be considered for admission. However, there are also many colleges that don’t require a GPA at all. In this article, I will highlight some of the top schools that do not require a GPA as well as outline how you can apply if you want your application to get past their admissions gatekeepers without having met their minimum requirements.

Degrees Offered at Empire State College

Empire State College offers a variety of degree programs in the liberal arts and sciences. One of these is the Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) program, which allows for students to take a variety of courses so as to explore their areas of interest. The LAS program allows students to take courses at their own pace, with no required GPA or minimum number of credits needed in order to graduate.

Empire State College also offers master’s degrees through its School of Graduate Studies. Students who apply may be admitted with as little as 3 semester hours credit; however, most students will have earned an associate’s degree from another institution before applying for admission into one of Empire State College’s master’s programs.

The Open University

The Open University (OU) is a distance learning and research university, and is the largest academic institution in the UK. It was founded in 1969 as the United Kingdom’s first distance-learning university. The OU offers undergraduate courses through its four faculties: Arts, Education, Health and Social Care, Science and Technology.

The Open University offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications including foundation degrees, bachelor degrees (BA/BSc), master’s degrees (MPhil/MSc/MASt), postgraduate certificates (PGCert/PGDip) and doctorate programmes (PhD).

New School in New York City

New School is a private, not-for-profit institution founded in 1919. It is a member of the Association of American Universities and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees through its five schools: Parsons School of Design; The New School for Social Research; Eugene Lang College; Mannes College The New School for Music; and The New School University Center for Human Values.

Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA

Montserrat College of Art is a small, private liberal arts college located in Beverly, Massachusetts. It is known for its low tuition and high graduation rate. The school’s focus on the arts has led to its reputation for having some of the best art programs in the country; it does not require that students have any prerequisites or GPA minimums, which makes it an appealing option for those who want to study art but don’t want to necessarily take on a heavy course load.
