California State University, Long Beach

If you’re interested in pursuing a degree in special education, California State University, Long Beach offers a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education. This program is accredited by the CSU system. In order to graduate from this program, students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and complete at least 60 units and two years’ worth of coursework.

Hunter College of CUNY

Hunter College of CUNY offers a B.A. in Special Education, which can be completed online by going to www.hunter.cuny.edu and choosing the “Admissions” tab on the homepage, then choosing “Undergraduate Admissions” on the left-hand side of the page. The program is offered at Hunter’s Manhattan campus, but students can earn their degree from anywhere in New York State that has access to high-speed internet (including remote locations).

The curriculum includes courses such as Educational Psychology and Special Education Methods; Basic Academic Skills for Students with Disabilities; Introduction to Self Advocacy Skills for Individuals with Disabilities; Advanced Self Advocacy Skills for Individuals with Disabilities; IEP Meeting Preparation Workshop: Legal Rights & Obligations; and Independent Living Skills Workshop: Job Search Strategies & Interview Techniques among others. Students must complete an internship or field experience in addition to completing a minimum of 120 course credits within five years of entering into their program as well as pass all required examinations before graduating from it successfully!
