Students who graduate from MSU’s athletic training program will be eligible to take the national certification exam given by CAATE and apply for professional membership with NATA. MSU’s athletic training department also offers a master’s degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training.

MSU has over 1,000 students enrolled in its two-year bachelor’s degree program who are pursuing careers as certified athletic trainers (ATCs). Most athletic training students begin working as student trainers or volunteer assistants before completing their final year at MSU, which means they learn first-hand how an ATC works closely with athletes and coaches on a daily basis, helping them prevent injuries and rehabilitate injured players back into play.
