Colorado State University

Colorado State University is a public university located in Fort Collins, Colorado. CSU is a member of the NCAA Division I Mountain West Conference and was founded in 1870. The Rams are known for their historically successful football program, which has won eight conference titles since 1996 and made two appearances in the FBS National Championship Game (1999 and 2001). Colorado State also offers athletic training as a major within its Department of Health & Exercise Sciences.

Rocky Mountain College

Rocky Mountain College is a private, four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) located in Billings, Montana. The college was founded as an academy in 1878 by Presbyterians. It has since grown into a residential undergraduate liberal arts institution with more than 2,000 students and nearly 200 full-time faculty members.

Weber State University

Weber State University is a public university located in Ogden, Utah, United States. The university was founded in 1889 as Weber Stake Academy, later changing its name to Weber Academy, Weber Normal College, and Weber College. It became a university in 1951.

University of Idaho

University of Montana

University of Montana is a public institution of higher education located in Missoula, Montana. The university has an enrollment of 15,000 students and is a member of the Big Sky Conference.

University of Montana athletics have won multiple national titles including football (1987) and cross country (1989).

Montana State University

Montana State University offers an athletic training major that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The program is offered through the Department of Kinesiology, Health, and Recreation.

Seattle Pacific University

Seattle Pacific University is a private Christian university located in Seattle, Washington. It was founded in 1891 by the Free Methodist Church and is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America. SPU offers bachelor’s degrees in athletic training among its 16 undergraduate majors. The athletic training major requires 120 hours of coursework and leads to an associate’s degree upon completion. Students must also complete 20 hours of internship at an athletic training facility before receiving their degree from Seattle Pacific University.

Whitworth University

Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington is a private liberal arts college that’s been around since 1891. The athletic training program at Whitworth has been ranked as one of the best in decades—and rightfully so.

The College of Health Professions at Whitworth offers an Athletic Training major with a concentration in Sports Medicine, which gives students the chance to learn about all aspects of sports medicine while pursuing their bachelor’s degree.

Whitworth’s athletic training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The certification exam for this program will be offered through Pearson VUE testing centers throughout North America beginning summer 2020.

Eastern Washington University

Eastern Washington University is a great place to start your athletic training career. EWU offers a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, Master of Science in Athletic Training, PhD in Athletic Training and Certificate in Athletic Training. It’s also the only university to offer online programs for athletic training!
