Iowa is a rural state with a small population. However, it’s also home to several schools that offer athletic training programs. This includes Iowa State University, Briar Cliff University and Central College. You can also find athletic training programs at Grinnell College and Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC).

Iowa State University

Iowa State University is a public research university in Ames, Iowa. It was founded on February 28, 1858 as Iowa Agricultural College and Model Farm. The school held its first classes on October 22 of that year.

Iowa State University is a member of the Big 12 Conference and fields 19 varsity sports teams that compete in NCAA Division I athletics. The Cyclones compete as members of the Big 12 South division with rival teams including Oklahoma State University and Texas Christian University (TCU).

The school has an enrollment of over 30,000 students across 32 colleges and schools offering over 150 majors for undergraduate students to choose from at ISU’s main campus or one of its satellite campuses located throughout Iowa.

Briar Cliff University

Briar Cliff University athletic training program is located in Iowa Falls, IA. The university offers an online athletic training program.

Central College

Central College is a private liberal arts college located in Pella, Iowa, United States. The school offers a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training degree.

The program includes a heavy emphasis on anatomy and physiology, kinesiology and biomechanics, chemistry and physics as well as learning how to use medical equipment such as electrocardiograms (ECG) and blood pressure cuffs. Students also learn how to conduct injury prevention programs, develop conditioning programs for athletes and treat injuries when they happen.

Grinnell College

Grinnell College is a private liberal arts college in Grinnell, Iowa. Established in 1846, it is one of the oldest colleges in Iowa and has been coeducational since its founding. The college was named after Josiah Grinnell (1787–1872), who provided much of the funds for its establishment and served as the donor for much land on which the campus was built.
