Princeton University
Princeton University is a private Ivy League research university located in Princeton, New Jersey, USA. It was established in 1746 as the College of New Jersey and has been popularly known as Princeton since 1896.
Princeton’s campus is spread across 450 acres on the edge of both Princeton Borough and Princeton Township in Mercer County, making it one of the most beautiful campuses in the world. The main campus encompasses roughly 1 square mile (2 km²), including most of Princeton’s academic buildings and residential colleges. The university also owns or leases an additional 67 non-academic buildings near its primary campus with some adjacent to it, such as laboratories that were developed by industry to become research centers affiliated with various departments at Princeton University; other major off-campus facilities include two large academic health science centers that serve as teaching hospitals for students: Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Hospital and Cancer Center at Prentice Hall Hospital located just north of West Windsor; 2 athletic facilities: John Jay Hall which serves primarily indoor athletics while Alexander Stadium serves outdoor track meets (as well as being used by soccer teams); several dining halls; 28 fraternities/sororities houses; an observatory building atop one hill overlooking most everything else (from which there are sweeping views), etcetera…
Berea College
Berea College is a private liberal arts college in Kentucky. The college offers tuition-free education to low income students with the goal of encouraging them to be active members of society. Students are required to work 10 hours per week for their tuition and fees, which can add up to more than $15,000 per year. In addition, all students must complete 30 hours of community service work before graduating from Berea College.
Students must apply for admission as early as possible; applications are due November 1st each year for spring entry and February 1st for fall entry. The admissions process includes submitting an application along with SAT or ACT scores, high school transcripts and teacher recommendations (if available). After submitting these materials, applicants will receive an email within two weeks outlining whether or not they were accepted into the college.
Hendrix College
- Hendrix College is a private liberal arts college in Conway, Arkansas.
- It was founded in 1876 and named after Granville Conway, who donated land to the founding group of trustees.
- As a member of the Council of Southern Colleges and Schools since 1932, Hendrix College holds bachelor’s degrees in over 60 majors. Students can also earn master’s degrees in education or counseling through online programs offered by the school.
Morehouse College
Morehouse College is a private, four-year, liberal arts, historically black college located in Atlanta, Georgia. Morehouse is the only all-male, private liberal arts college in the United States.
In 2017 it was ranked as one of America’s Best Colleges by Forbes magazine.
Hawaii Pacific University
Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) is a private, non-profit university located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Established in 1970 as Hawai’i Pacific College, it now offers undergraduate degrees in business management and administration, education and nursing. It also provides graduate degrees in business administration and education as well as master’s programs in counseling psychology, social work and nursing practice (MSN).
Hawaii Pacific University has a low student-to-faculty ratio of 18:1. The admission rate at HPU is 27%, which makes it easy to get into this school if you have above average grades.
The tuition costs at HPU are very affordable compared to other colleges in the state of Hawaii: $26 million per year for full time students or $525 per credit hour for part time students
United States Air Force Academy
The United States Air Force Academy is all about discipline. Cadets are required to live on campus and follow a strict code of conduct. All cadets receive a full scholarship, which can be renewed if they remain in good standing with the academy. After graduation, students must serve five years in the Air Force, usually working as pilots or officers.
Students who apply to this program should be strong leaders who like structure. It’s also important that they have an interest in military service—the program will only accept students who intend on joining the Air Force after graduating from college
University of the People
There are hundreds of institutions in the U.S. that offer free tuition to low-income students. But they’re not all created equal: some offer generous scholarships and grants, while others require students to pay a lot out of pocket.
University of the People is a non-profit, tuition-free online university based in Israel that offers two bachelor’s degrees—a business administration degree and a computer science degree—and one associate’s degree in computer science. While there are no requirements for admission or financial aid, applicants must pass an online assessment test before being accepted into the school. Once accepted, students must also pay $50 once every three years as an enrollment fee (which can be paid by credit card). Beyond this one-time payment, students are not required to pay any further fees during their time at University of the People (UoPeople).
CUNY Macaulay Honors College
CUNY Macaulay Honors College is a public honors college within the City University of New York (CUNY) system. The college offers students a unique opportunity to pursue a liberal arts education at an affordable price.
The program’s mission statement reads, “Macaulay Honors College is committed to providing an academically rigorous and socially engaged experience for high-achieving students from every background. Through its interdisciplinary approach to learning, it equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in today’s world.”
