If you’re a young man with dreams of playing college soccer, you may be wondering where to go. Some schools offer scholarships for men’s soccer players, but not all do. Each school has its own specific requirements and policies regarding scholarships. Here are some colleges that do offer soccer scholarships:
Abilene Christian University
Abilene Christian University is a private university located in Abilene, Texas. ACU offers both a men’s soccer team and a women’s soccer team. Both teams compete at the Division I level. The ACU men’s soccer program has had some success in recent years, winning regular season titles and making appearances in NCAA tournaments.
Adrian College
Adrian College is a private liberal arts college in Adrian, Michigan, United States. It was founded in 1859 by Lutherans in the tradition of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and today is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The school offers bachelor’s degrees across its three colleges: Arts & Sciences, Business Administration and Education.
The men’s soccer team competes at the NCAA Division III level as a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). The team has won two national championships: one in 1984 and another in 1995. They were runners-up to Amherst College both times they won it all; amassing an overall record of 40-4-1 over those two seasons.

The Alabama A&M Bulldogs men’s soccer team offers several scholarships to incoming players, ranging from $10,000-$12,000 per year. There is also a possibility of athletic aid which may be applied to the total cost of attendance (tuition and fees). To be considered for this scholarship opportunity, you must meet all entrance requirements set forth by Alabama A&M University as well as have strong academic performance in high school or college. Alabama State University
Alabama State University is a historically black university located in Montgomery, Alabama. The ASU Foundation Scholarship is available to students who meet the following criteria:
- Are members of an organization that supports African-American culture
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Plan to major in business or education
The ASU Foundation Athletic Scholarship is reserved for student athletes who play on one of its athletic teams. Students must also have at least a 2.0 GPA and be enrolled full time during their first year at the school, with no breaks longer than four weeks between semesters. If you meet these requirements and are interested in this scholarship, you need to apply through your coach or team manager by March 1st each year; the deadline for renewal applications is May 1st.
Albertus Magnus College
Albertus Magnus College is a private liberal arts college located in New Haven, Connecticut. It was founded in 1936 by the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena. The school’s motto is Veritas et Caritas (translated as “truth and love”), which reflects its core values of academic rigor and social justice. Albertus Magnus offers more than 60 majors to undergraduates and also has graduate programs in education and business administration offered through its School for Graduate Studies & Continuing Education.
The school’s student-to-teacher ratio is 12:1, with an acceptance rate of 70%.
Alice Lloyd College
Alice Lloyd College is a small private liberal arts college in Pippa Passes, Kentucky. It was founded in 1923 by the United Methodist Church. The college is named after Alice Lloyd, a pioneer of the Appalachian region.
The university offers bachelor’s degrees across seven academic departments: Theology and Religious Education; Business Administration; Education; English and Communications; Mathematics and Computer Science; Natural Sciences and Health Professions; Social Work. It also offers 13 different concentrations for Bachelor’s degrees with majors ranging from Biology to Business Administration to Rhetoric & Writing Studies.
Alma College
Alma College is a private liberal arts college located in Alma, Michigan. The college was founded in 1847 by the Presbyterian Church and its motto is “lucidus ut alta,” which means “bright as the heights.”
Alma College offers men’s soccer as an intercollegiate sport. The team competes at the NCAA Division III level and plays against other schools such as Albion College, Hope College, Olivet College, Adrian College and Grand Valley State University.
American International College
American International College is a private university located in Springfield, Massachusetts. It offers men’s soccer as a varsity sport and has opportunities for student-athletes to receive scholarships for their participation. AIC competes in the Northeast Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and plays its home games at the 2,500-seat Gallo Arena.
The team was founded in 1967 and has been coached by Pete Mehlert since 2008. He has led his squad to three tournament appearances: 2009 ECAC New England Tournament Championship, 2010 and 2011 NCAA Sweet Sixteen Tournaments, 2011 NCAA Elite Eight Tournament appearance and 2012 NCAA Quarterfinals Tournament appearance.
American University
Many students are unaware that American University offers a men’s soccer scholarship. The university is located in Washington, D.C., and was founded in 1893. American University has an enrollment of 7,600 students, which makes it the smallest university on this list by student population. The university mascot is the eagle, while their colors are blue and gold—which are also the colors of the Patriot League that they compete in as a member institution. As an NCAA Division I program, American University fields teams in various sports including football (men), cross country (men), basketball (men/women), tennis (women), swimming & diving (women) track & field(both genders).
American offers male soccer players full scholarships to attend school at their institution if they meet certain requirements such as having a high GPA or participating in club tournaments during high school
Amherst College
Amherst College is a private liberal arts college located in Amherst, Massachusetts, United States. It was established in 1821 and is known for its commitment to quality and excellence. The school offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees, with most students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA).
Amherst College has a men’s soccer team that plays in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). These teams compete against other small colleges throughout New England, including Bowdoin College, Trinity College, Williams College, Wesleyan University and others.
The coach of the men’s soccer team at Amherst College is John Murphy. He began coaching at Amherst in 2005 after spending four years as an assistant coach at his alma mater Colby College
Appalachian State University
Appalachian State University is a public university located in Boone, North Carolina. It was founded by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1899 as Appalachian State Normal School.
The school has a student population of over 19,000 and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in over 200 fields at its main campus. The university has also established satellite campuses throughout western North Carolina to serve those who live farther away from the main campus.
Arizona Christian University (ACU)
Arizona Christian University (ACU) is a Christian university in Phoenix, Arizona. ACU is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and they have an active men’s soccer team. The school offers athletic scholarships to student-athletes that are awarded based on the student’s academic performance and financial need, as well as athletic ability.

Arizona State University (ASU)
Arizona State University (ASU) is a public university that offers men’s soccer scholarships. The school is a NCAA Division I institution with a strong men’s soccer program. ASU has produced several professional players, including Taylor Graham who played over 180 matches in MLS and USL, Alex Cazumba who played in MLS and NASL, as well as other notable alumni like Ned Grabavoy, who played for the United States Men’s National Team and now plays for Toronto FC of Major League Soccer (MLS). With this information you can see why it might be worthwhile to consider attending ASU if you are looking for colleges that offer men’s soccer scholarships.
Augustana College (SD)
- Augustana College is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It is a private liberal arts college and a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.
- The school fields 21 teams that compete at the NCAA Division II level, including men’s soccer.
- The Vikings’ home field is on campus at Tegarden Stadium.
Austin Peay State University – APSU
Austin Peay State University is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference and a NCAA Division I school. Located in Clarksville, Tennessee, APSU offers men’s soccer scholarships to qualified players.

You have a chance to win a soccer scholarship. Many colleges offer scholarships for men’s soccer, especially if you play on the varsity team. You can get a soccer scholarship by applying to colleges that offer soccer scholarships and then playing well enough in your freshman year at those schools to continue receiving the award.
In the United States alone, more than 1 million students play high school-level soccer every year—and many of these kids are hoping to earn college athletic scholarships in their hometowns or nearby locales as they progress into their teenage years. The odds of getting one of these coveted awards isn’t great: According to data from Sports Illustrated’s Top 25 College Teams list (which includes only NCAA Division I teams), there were only around 20 total men’s soccer players who received an athletic scholarship throughout all three seasons—2014 through 2016—that were analyzed during this period. That said, it may be worth looking into whether any colleges near where you live offer financial aid based on merit rather than need; after all, not everyone qualifies as “low income” or receives any other type of assistance through state programs like Cal Grant A+ or Pell Grants!
