Barnard College

Barnard College, a private women’s liberal arts college in New York City, is affiliated with Columbia University. The school offers more than 70 undergraduate majors and minors and features an Honors Program. Barnard is located in Manhattan’s Upper West Side neighborhood.

Barnard College has a total enrollment of 2,367 undergraduate students for the 2017-2018 school year; this includes 1,334 who live on campus and 1,033 who live off campus in nearby neighborhoods such as Harlem or Morningside Heights. Barnard College has an acceptance rate of 17 percent based on its class of 2022; while this is slightly lower than that at many other highly selective colleges like Harvard University (7%) or Princeton University (11%), it’s still one of the highest rates among all four-year schools in America today!

The University was founded in 1839 by Samuel Morse—the inventor of Morse code—and Charles Eliot, who sought to create a non-sectarian college free from religious bias with its location being close to what was then Beacon Hill but now known as Back Bay. The institution was designed by Alexander Wadsworth Longfellow Jr., brother of poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (of “Paul Revere’s Ride” fame).

California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo

California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, or Cal Poly, is one of the few institutions that require internships for all majors. The university offers a variety of different internship opportunities through its Career Services Office, which can help students find an internship at companies in San Luis Obispo or elsewhere in California. Internships are a great way to get your foot in the door at a company and gain valuable experience that will be useful when applying for jobs after graduation. They’re also an opportunity to make connections with professionals in your field who may be able to help you later on down the road.

Carnegie Mellon University

Carnegie Mellon University is a private research university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Carnegie Mellon was founded as the Carnegie Technical Schools by Andrew Carnegie and originally had schools for mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, production, and chemistry. The university has an enrollment of about 13,000 students (including over 5,000 graduate students) from more than 100 countries.[1]

Carnegie Mellon is one of four private universities that belong to the Association of American Universities (AAU), an organization of leading research universities devoted to maintaining a strong system of academic research and education.[2]

In addition to its main campus in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood,[3] Carnegie Mellon maintains campuses in Washington D.C.; Silicon Valley; Qatar; and Singapore[4]. The university also operates multiple facilities around Pittsburgh including: the Software Engineering Institute[5], National Robotics Engineering Center[6], Computer Science Department[7], Tepper School of Business Administration [8][9][10][11]and other organizations within its Heinz College.[12][13]

Chapman University

Chapman University is a private, non-profit university located in Orange County, California. The school was founded in 1861 and boasts an endowment of $1.5 billion. It has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 25 national universities every year since 1996 and is currently ranked #1 among Western Regional Universities by Forbes magazine.

Chapman University has no required internships but strongly recommends them for all students who wish to graduate within four years with a Bachelor’s degree or five years with a Master’s degree. Students can find their own internship opportunities through posting websites such as or Indeed; alternatively, they may use the Career Center on campus to help connect them with companies hiring interns at the time of need (or during the summer).

To receive credit for an internship experience through Chapman University’s Career Center:

  • Meet with your academic advisor (or faculty mentor) prior to starting your internship so they can review it together and decide how much course credit should be given based on what you will be doing at work each day/week/month etc…

  • The best way to find an internship is through the career center. They can help you search for and apply for internships, as well as help guide you through the process of finding one that’s right for you.
  • Application deadlines are usually in late February or early March, so start applying ASAP! The earlier the better since employers like to get a sense of who their potential interns are before they decide whether they want to work with them or not (and vice versa).
  • Don’t stress too much about it if you don’t get an internship offer right away—just keep applying! Also consider looking into summer jobs outside of school if possible; many colleges offer these opportunities on campus for students who don’t secure fall/spring internships beforehand.

Colorado School of Mines

Colorado School of Mines is a public research university in Golden, Colorado. It was founded in 1874 as the Colorado School of Mines, but did not begin offering bachelor’s degrees until its name was changed to the present one in 1921. The institution is a member of the Association of American Universities and has an enrollment rate of over 6,000 students.

The school offers undergraduate degrees in engineering, science and mathematics; master’s degrees in a variety of fields including engineering (civil), geological sciences and mining engineering; doctorates or doctoral degrees; plus several interdisciplinary programs such as biochemistry or physics with business administration.

Cornell University

Cornell University requires a minimum of 2 internships, one in a STEM field and one in a non-STEM field. The university strongly recommends that students gain experience in both types of fields as part of their career preparation.

Cornell University was founded by Ezra Cornell and Andrew Dickson White in 1865, with the first classes held in 1868. It is located on an 865 acre campus near the village of Ithaca, New York (about an hour from Syracuse or Rochester).

Duke University

  • Duke University is a private research university located in Durham, North Carolina, United States. Founded by Methodists and Quakers in the present-day town of Trinity in 1838, the school moved to Durham in 1892. In 1924, tobacco and electric power industrialist James Buchanan Duke established The Duke Endowment, at which time the institution changed its name to honor his deceased father Washington Duke and grandfather Josiah Power.

Emerson College

Emerson College is a private university in Boston, Massachusetts. It’s ranked as one of the top colleges in the United States and is known for its strong focus on communication and media studies.

Florida International University

Florida International University (FIU) is a public research university in Greater Miami, Florida. It is classified as a research university with highest research activity by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. FIU has more than 44,000 students enrolled in over 70 undergraduate programs and 100 graduate programs.

Florida State University

Florida State University requires some students to complete an internship. FSU has a variety of internships available, including those that are paid. Students can search for internships on the FSU website by using keywords such as “arts” and “business”.

George Washington University

Georgia Institute of Technology

Internships are a good way to get a feel for what it’s like to work in the real world. They’re also a great way to get yourself noticed by potential employers by showing them what you can do and what kind of employee you’d be. Internships are also an effective way of accruing experience without having yet graduated from college or university—in fact, many students don’t even pursue master’s programs after completing their bachelor’s degrees because they simply want more experience before moving forward with their careers!

Goucher College

Goucher College is a private, coeducational liberal arts college in the United States. It is located in the north-central United States in the state of Maryland, on a 1,200-acre (490 ha) campus near Towson.

The college was founded in 1885 by philanthropist Baltimore lawyer Johns Hopkins. The school’s first president was Daniel Coit Gilman; he had been president of Johns Hopkins University from 1876 to 1882 and was one of the founding organizers of the National Academy of Sciences.[2] Gilman recruited a faculty that included future University of Virginia president Francis Lockey Cabell and writer Julia Ward Howe,[3] who was hired as its first librarian.[4] After several failed attempts to find an appropriate site for a new school building within close proximity to Baltimore City itself (the original proposal being Bollman Hall on Mount Vernon Place), Goucher bought 500 acres (202 ha) at Towson Corner where its current campus now stands today.[5][6]

Goucher College has three graduate programs: Master’s Degree Program in Counseling Psychology; Master’s Degree Program in Global Business Leadership; and Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis.[7]

Hofstra University

Hofstra University is located in Hempstead, New York. It was founded in 1935 by Hofstra College and later acquired by the New York State Board of Regents to be its first public university. The school has a student population of over 14,000, making it the second largest private university on Long Island and one of the largest in New York.

Hofstra has a strong reputation for undergraduate and graduate education. Undergraduate degrees are offered in more than 40 majors while graduate programs are offered through 13 schools and colleges: Arts & Sciences; Business Administration; Social Welfare; Education; Engineering & Applied Science; Humanities & Letters; Law School (JD); Management (MBA); Natural Sciences & Mathematics; Nursing (MSN), Public Health – Doctorate (PhD).
