Child development is a science that studies how children grow, learn and behave. Child development specialists study the influences on child growth and behavior. They may also work with children to help them develop their full potential as they grow older. If you’re interested in studying child development, here are some colleges with good programs:

Boston University

Boston University has a child development program with a focus on early childhood education. The program prepares students to become leaders in the field of early childhood education by providing them with foundational knowledge and skills that will enable them to teach young children.

University of Wisconsin-Madison

The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s child development program is one of the best in the country. The program is also well-funded, which means that it’s able to provide students with an excellent education and experience.

Arizona State University

Arizona State University is a public research university located in Tempe, Arizona. It is the largest public university by enrollment in the US and one of the most ethnically diverse research universities in the world.

University of California, Irvine

The University of California, Irvine’s Department of Human Development and Family Studies offers a bachelor’s degree in human development. The program was ranked #3 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for its excellent job placement prospects, research focus and affordability (with tuition at only $15,000 a year). In addition to the Bachelor of Arts degree, UCI also offers several graduate programs in child development including a master’s degree with concentrations in child welfare or applied psychology.

UCI is one of the largest public universities in California with more than 30,000 students enrolled annually on its main campus located north of Los Angeles.

Texas Woman’s University

Texas Woman’s University (TWU) is a public university in Denton, Texas, USA that offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees through the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. TWU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. It was founded in 1901 as an all-female school; it became coeducational in 1943 and began admitting male students to its nursing program soon thereafter. The university now has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students across multiple campuses, including its main campus located in Denton and branch campuses throughout Dallas County.
