This is a list of schools that offer dental hygiene programs. Dentistry is the study and practice of treating oral diseases, deformities and injuries with special instruments called tools or devices. They are also known as dental hygienists. The main responsibilities include conducting oral exams, diagnosing tooth decay and gum disease, teaching patients how to maintain good oral health habits and cleaning teeth using different techniques including scaling (the removal of plaque from above the gum line), polishing (removing stains from surfaces of teeth) and fluoride treatments (addition of chemicals).
