Full-Time MBA

The Darden Full-Time MBA is a one-year, full-time program. The coursework is completed in the summer, fall and spring semesters.

Students who have less than five years of work experience will take a 12-month curriculum that consists of 18 total credits, while students with more than five years’ experience may opt for either a 24-credit or 36-credit part-time program.

Darden’s Full Time MBA program offers concentrations in accounting, entrepreneurship and innovation, finance & corporate strategy (F&CS), marketing management & analytics (MMAM) and supply chain management (SCM). Students can also participate in specialized study abroad programs in China or Latin America through the Global Business Institute at Darden Business School.

Executive MBA

The Darden Executive MBA is a full-time program designed to meet the needs of executives and mid-career professionals who wish to advance their careers or switch careers. The curriculum includes courses in finance, accounting, marketing, strategy and operations. Participants will also develop proficiency in leadership and management as well as an understanding of how institutions work within their local communities. The program lasts 15 months with classes beginning each August in Charlottesville or Washington D.C..

Master of Business Administration for Executives

The program focuses on leadership development, providing a framework to effectively lead your organization or team. You will learn to apply strategic thinking and become a better communicator.

The MBA for Executives is designed for working professionals who wish to earn their graduate degree while continuing to work full time. This program can be completed in 18 months through evening classes on the main campus or online.

Global Executive MBA

The Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) is a 12-month program designed for working professionals who want to advance their careers.

The curriculum is designed to provide you with the skills you need to excel in an international business environment.

Students develop a global mindset and learn how to navigate complex situations, manage change and lead others through uncertain times. They also take courses on topics such as leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship and developing new business models.

Executive Education

The Executive Education program is designed for those who want to gain in-depth knowledge of leadership, organizational behavior and technology. These courses are offered on a part-time basis and are open to executives, managers, supervisors, and professionals at all levels who wish to strengthen their skills or prepare themselves for advancement.

Executive Education provides students with the opportunity to develop their own personal competencies by exploring topics such as leadership development, organizational behavior theory, strategic planning techniques or process improvement methodologies through case studies or simulations.

Student Businesses

Darden has a long history of student businesses. Over the years, our students have formed many businesses, including a restaurant, chocolate shop, bakery and wine and beer bar. The first student-run business in Darden was created in 1963 by a group of MBA students who became known as “The Wine Club.” Today there are more than 40 student-run businesses at Darden supported by faculty and staff.
