The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is an exam you must take in order to be admitted to medical school. The MCAT is administered by the AAMC. It is a computer-based test that consists of 4 sections: biological and biochemical foundations of living systems; chemical and physical foundations of biological systems; psychological, social, and biological foundations of behavior; and critical analysis and reasoning skills. These 4 sections are further broken down into subsections for a total of 59 questions per section. The MCAT takes about 6 hours to complete with no breaks between sections. There are multiple options for the dates on which you can take the exam throughout the year at testing centers across the country, but spots fill up quickly so plan ahead!
