Facilities Management Work Order System
The University of Arizona’s Facilities Management Work Order System (FM-WO) is a web-based application that allows staff to track and manage all incoming work orders. FM-WO has been in use at the University since 2008 and is used by more than 5,000 users; it provides real time information on work order requests coming into the facility management department.
The system allows users to search for equipment based on type, location, or serial number; it also enables them to create an equipment request form and send it directly from within the application itself. Upon receiving a request form, FM-WO assigns an open date stamp indicating when they received it and then sends out notification emails with PDF attachments detailing what needs fixing/improving at what time period requested by user so they can plan accordingly. Once repairs are completed according to schedule outlined within email attachment sent back out through this system (usually takes less than 10 minutes), FM Maintenance Manager will update status field appropriately before closing ticket so user can view progress made during inspection process without having access
