Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is designed in such a way that it will help you to learn the basic techniques of fashion designing. You will be taught how to create patterns by using computer software or paper patterns along with understanding cutting out techniques for fashion design industry standards. The course also enables you to develop your own ideas from scratch so that you can produce your own designs which are original as well as unique.
The course also includes all elements of color theory and pattern construction, as well as draping on a mannequin shape for creating fabric samples which are used for market testing purposes before producing large runs.
Stages in the Course
- In the first stage of your course, you will become familiar with the basics of fashion designing and learn how to design a garment based on customer requirements. The second stage covers basic knowledge about textiles and fabrics. You will also learn how to create different kind of patterns by using freehand techniques. In this stage, you will be taught how to develop ideas and concepts through sketches, illustrations or models that represent the designs in a three-dimensional form.

The fifth stage focuses on computer aided designing (CAD) skills wherein students get hands-on experience about working with CAD software such as Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop CC 2017/CorelDraw X8 suite/Autodesk 123D Design 2017 Version 14 onwards versions). This includes making 2D drawings from 3D modelling software such as Autodesk Fusion 360 2016 version onwards versions or Solidworks 2016 version onwards versions (Solidworks is not mandatory).
