Florida Colleges That Are Sat Optional

If you’re like me and you were forced to take the SAT before it was cool (or even legal), then you probably don’t want to go through that again. Luckily, there are plenty of colleges that don’t require the SAT or ACT scores as part of their admissions process.

Nova Southeastern University

New College of Florida

New College of Florida is a liberal arts college that was founded in Sarasota, Florida in 1926. The school has an acceptance rate of just 13%, which makes it one of the hardest schools to get into in the state. In addition, New College boasts a retention rate of 89% and a graduation rate of 96%.

Stetson University

Stetson University is located in DeLand, Florida, and is a private university that operates as a liberal arts college. The total enrollment at the school is 3,942.

The SAT test is optional for students applying to Stetson University.

Eckerd College

Eckerd College is a private liberal arts college located in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States. It was founded by the Eckerd Family of St. Petersburg, Florida in 1958 as an all-male college preparatory academy[2] to serve students from grades 6 through 12.[3]

In 1995 it became coeducational and began admitting female students into the upper school program (high school).[4] In 1996 it expanded its mission by adding a four-year liberal arts college program focused on international studies,[5] with particular emphasis on Central Asia and Russia.[6][7][8][9]

Florida Polytechnic University

Pass/fail grading has been a standard option at most colleges and universities for years, but it’s still not the norm. You’ll be in good company if you choose to take your classes pass/fail at Florida Polytechnic University, which accepts both SAT and ACT scores from qualified applicants.

The school is also a commuter school, with close to 70% of students living off-campus.

Florida Atlantic University

Florida Atlantic University, or FAU, is a public university located in Boca Raton, Florida. It was founded in 1964 and has since grown to include five campuses across the state. The university has over 36,000 students enrolled at any given time and offers undergraduate degrees as well as master’s programs and doctoral programs in select fields of study.

FAU students who plan on applying to law school may consider taking the LSATs for those schools that accept these scores instead of the SATs or ACTs. However, if you’re not interested in attending law school but are still looking for a college that accepts sat optional scores but does not require them, we’ve put together this list of 10 colleges where you can apply without having to take the test:

Florida Institute of Technology

Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) is a private university with a low acceptance rate. FIT is an engineering and technology focused university with a strong emphasis on research and innovation. The student population is predominantly male, but the school does have a number of international students from around the world who come to study at FIT’s state-of-the-art facilities. The small campus has fewer than 3,500 students making it easy for students to get involved on campus or in surrounding communities.

Jacksonville University

Jacksonville University is a private university located in Jacksonville, Florida. It was founded in 1934 and became an independent institution in 1970. It has over 7,000 students on campus.

The athletics department of Jacksonville University has teams that compete in 12 different sports, including basketball, golf and soccer.

The academic programs available at Jacksonville University include 61 undergraduate majors; 26 graduate programs; 3 doctoral programs; an online Master of Science in Information Technology Management (MSITM). The average class size is 20 students per classroom with an average faculty-to-student ratio of 1:13.

Rollins College

Rollins College is a private liberal arts college in Winter Park, Florida. It was founded in 1885 by benefactor John Rollins as a women’s college, and it remains coeducational today. Rollins is named after its benefactor and former U.S. Representative from the district of Florida where Winter Park is located. The institution is known for its low student-to-faculty ratio of 10:1, which allows students to get more personal attention from faculty members and staff members when they need help with their studies or just want to talk about something that they’re struggling with in their lives outside of academics.

Rollins also has a large number of programs available through its online degree program called eMBA@Rollins (which stands for Executive Master of Business Administration at Rollins). This program allows students who want an education but are working full time jobs or even raising families to go back on campus once every quarter during what would normally be weekends so they can earn their degrees faster than usual while still maintaining work responsibilities (or even starting new businesses).

Keiser University

Keiser University is a private, non-profit university with campuses in Florida, Georgia and the Bahamas. The school has a total undergraduate enrollment of 25,928 students and an average graduation rate of 53%. Keiser University has an average SAT score between 1250-1300 and an average ACT score between 22-24.

As you can see, there are a lot of colleges in Florida that do not require the SAT. This means that if you are applying to one of these schools and don’t want to take the test, then don’t worry about it! You have plenty of options for colleges without SAT requirements. Just remember that this will probably make your application process a little longer than it would be if you had taken the test.
