International students looking for a fully funded education at college level can apply for the Free scholarships for international students, an excellent scholarship grant to pursue the desired course in any chosen field of academic study. The University of California at Berkeley is providing this scholarship program and its aim is to help international students with quality-based education while they are studying in the USA.

Eligible Criteria

All international candidates must have accepted a place on a course at UCB before they apply. The applicant must be able to demonstrate that they have achieved an academic excellence throughout their educational career. They will also need to demonstrate leadership skills and qualities as well as being involved in extracurricular activities, or participation in community or volunteer work.

Undergraduate scholarships have now opened, the following students can apply:

  • You are an undergraduate student who has begun their studies at the university and are in need of financial assistance.
  • You are a graduate student who has begun their studies at the university, however your funding ends in September 2019 and you’re unable to fund your studies further.
  • You are a postgraduate student who is due to start their course in October 2019 but have not been able to secure funding to complete your studies.

The university offers two types of scholarships: academic scholarships and athletic scholarships.

Academic scholarship requirements:

  • You must be enrolled as a full-time (12 credit hours minimum) undergraduate or graduate student in good standing with The University of Texas at Austin for fall 2018, spring 2019, and summer 2019 semesters.
  • You must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on all previously attempted coursework that counts toward graduation for all undergraduate degrees (or 3.25 for graduate degrees). If you do not meet this minimum standard by the end of summer 2019, you will lose any remaining scholarship funds from this award for fall 2019 semester, if applicable.

University students

You must be a university student who has demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and/or community involvement. You must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student (full-time or part-time) at the University of Calgary in a degree program, with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 on the University of Calgary 4.0 scale. Students who are not currently enrolled may apply to be a student by providing proof of enrolment at the time of application.
