7 Registered nurses and advanced practice nurses in Georgia can renew their licenses online.
Registered nurses and advanced practice nurses in Georgia can renew their licenses online. The process is easy, secure, cost effective and fast. Renewing your license online has many advantages over mailing it in:
- It’s convenient to renew your license online. You don’t have to go anywhere or wait in line—just log on from home or work at any time of day or night and complete the process quickly.
- It’s faster than mailing in a renewal form because you can save up to 24 hours by completing it through our website instead of having to mail it back to us with a check for payment (which could take up to five business days).
- It’s more secure than mailing in a renewal form because we do not send an actual license card via regular mail; instead, we send a temporary paper certificate which must be displayed on your person at all times while practicing as an RN or APRN until you receive the permanent plastic card in the mail approximately two weeks after submitting your application electronically (or sooner if we receive proof of postal delivery). This ensures that there are no unauthorized copies made during this period when only those who need access will have access through the temporary paper certificate issued electronically by Gwinnett County Health & Human Services Department on behalf of Georgia Board of Nursing
