6 5. Review the results of your search.
If your search results come back with a licensee who is active, it means that they are currently practicing as a nursing license. If you find that the license is inactive, it means that the licensee has not been in practice for at least 36 consecutive months and intends to renew their license within 6 months from their last renewal date.
If you see “Good Standing” next to a licensee’s name, this indicates that this individual has had no disciplinary actions or pending criminal actions during their time as a nurse in Illinois. If any of these things appear on your search results, then we recommend contacting the Board directly for more information about these issues before making any decisions about hiring this individual.
