You’ll learn basic cuts and styles, including line haircuts, one-length haircuts, graduation haircuts, layering techniques and various texturizing procedures. Students will also master surface hair cutting, styling and molding techniques, braiding and twisting techniques, thermal waving procedures and chemical hair relaxing methods.

The Salon gives students the opportunity not only to practice technical skills but also learn about professionalism, communication with clients, client satisfaction, appointment scheduling and other aspects of running a successful salon business. As part of their training program each student has the opportunity during the final quarter of their program of working with clients from start to finish under the supervision of licensed instructors.
Graduates are eligible to take the State Board Examination required by the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology to obtain licensure in Ohio as a cosmetologist.
