Athletics
International University of Cyprus (IUC) students have taken part in a number of athletics competitions both on and off campus since the university was established. In 2007, IUC’s first inter-university track and field meet was organized and participation by the university’s students was hailed as a great success.
The following year, IUC participated in the Mediterranean Games held at Mersin, Turkey. The university’s athletes finished eighth out of 11 universities competing.
In 2011, IUC organized its second inter-university track and field meet which proved to be even more successful than the first edition. The university’s athletes won gold in the men’s 4×400 metres relay event and took home silver medals in the men’s 10,000 metres race. They also finished fourth in the men’s shot put event and competed in the women’s javelin throw competition.
This year, IUC entered 9 teams in various competitions. Their athletes have so far achieved excellent results winning medals at various levels including bronze in the men’s 10 kilometres road walk event at the Mediterranean Athletics Championships hosted by Cyprus University of Technology; silver medals in the men

Campus Layout
