Each year 1500 applicants are short-listed for the scholarship.

The scholarship is merit-based, meaning that all applicants must have demonstrated academic excellence (high grades at the university). The scholarship is open to all students regardless of their nationality, religion or ethnicity.

The scholarship is not available for students who are already enrolled in a university course. Each year 1500 applicants are short-listed for the scholarship and only 400 winners can benefit from it. This year only 7% of the applicants were admitted.

The Italia Scholarship awards grants amounting to about 25 (US)130 per month for 365 (US) months duration.

This grant is awarded to you by the university and is determined based on your financial need. It is not taxable. This grant amount requires that each school year, a student be enrolled in at least twelve credits per semester, nine of which must be taken at the Italy campus. This grant requires that you maintain a 3.0 grade point average each semester and complete all courses with a letter grade of C- or better.

The scholarship funds are limited and are awarded on a first come first serve basis to those who qualify according to the eligibility criteria mentioned above.
