While there’s no way to predict exactly what you’ll need from your future school at this point in your life, thinking through your own priorities will help you pinpoint which colleges might work best for you down the road. That said, there is one thing I am certain about: college should be fun! So don’t stress too much when searching for that perfect fit. You’ve got plenty of time before you have to decide where to go and it’s not worth worrying over details right now (unless they’re about tuition prices).

• How can a particular school help you reach your goals?
• Will it help you get a job after graduation?
• Will it help develop your skills and abilities in areas that interest or intrigue you?

Once these questions have been answered, finding the right college will be easier than ever before!

High school was great, but I’m looking forward to trying something new.

I went on an amazing class trip during high school and now I really want to be somewhere where it snows in the winter.

You’ve probably had a class trip or two, but none of them will ever compare to the one I went on in high school. My school was lucky enough to be able to afford a trip down to Big Bear Lake in Southern California for a week during winter break. It was an awesome experience and I learned so much about myself while there! Here are some things you should know before going on your next winter vacation:

• The best part was definitely all of the snowboarding we did while we were there! There were so many different slopes and trails that we could try out, and they even had a small half pipe where people could do tricks if they wanted (which is what I did). Snowboarding is probably my favorite sport of all time, so this was really fun for me.
• The worst thing about this trip wasn’t actually anything related directly with what happened during it — it was more just how expensive everything was once we got there! We had bought tickets ahead of time but still ended up spending more money than expected on food and lodging because our budget couldn’t handle everything being so expensive outside LA County…but still worth it overall since it’s fun anyway 🙂

My friends have applied to colleges in different parts of the country, so I’m interested in going somewhere far away from home.

If your parents went to the same university, that’s great! But don’t assume that it will be a perfect fit for you just because it worked out for them. You may want to look into other universities and see which one is the best choice for YOU. Your parents can give some advice about their experiences at the school, but ultimately, YOU will have to decide if it’s right for YOU.

Additionally, keep in mind that not every major is appropriate or even available at every institution (especially small liberal arts colleges). If there isn’t an academic program which fits your intended career path at a particular college, they might not be able to help you get into such an institution later on down the road — even if they have other strengths which could benefit someone else.’
