Loyola University Of Chicago Transcripts
The transcript is the official record of your academic history at Loyola University Chicago. It contains all your grades, and you need it to apply for graduate school and jobs. You can order a transcript online or through our Student Service Center (SSC) at Lake Shore Campus. If you would like someone else to pick up your transcript, they will need a valid form of identification.
Loyola University Of Chicago Transcripts
Transcripts are the official record of your academic history. They document your coursework, grades and credits earned at Loyola University Chicago.
Transcripts may be requested in person or by mail or fax. If you request a transcript in person, you will need to provide photo identification such as a driver’s license or passport with the name on your student ID card. Transcripts may be ordered using the secure electronic order form available through our web site, www.luc.edu/transcripts/. If you wish to have a transcript mailed to another college/university or employer, please use this form: [link]. Please allow 5-7 business days for processing of orders filled via mail; faxed requests generally take 3-4 business days for receipt and processing by our office (be sure to include an e-mail address with all faxed orders).
Ordering a transcript
- To order an official transcript online, you will need to be signed in to your Loyola account.
- If you are a current student, please select the “Current Students” button at the bottom of the page. If you are no longer attending Loyola and would like to order an official transcript from us, please select the “Alumni” button at the bottom of this page.
- On your screen will be several options for requesting a copy of your transcript:
o Electronic Delivery – This option allows students to receive their transcripts electronically via email or by downloading them directly from our secure website (PDF format). The cost for this service is $10 per document plus any applicable shipping charges. To order electronic delivery, please click “E-Transcripts” on the left side of this page under “Secure Services.” From there, follow instructions provided upon clicking on each link below:
- Electronic Delivery PDF File Download Instructions – This guide explains how students can download electronic transcripts securely using Adobe’s Acrobat Reader software available free through Adobe’s website.
- Requesting E-Transcripts – This guide explains how students may request that Loyola University send them their official electronic documents using one of two methods: 1) An email invitation with instructions for downloading documents or 2) A hyperlink sent directly from Loyola University Security Services staff members prior to its release date (generally within 72 hours after receipt).

Authorizing someone to pick up your transcript
You can authorize someone to pick up your transcript by logging into the Transcripts Online system and selecting “Manage.” On the next page, select “Authorize Another Person To Pick Up Your Transcript.”
You will be prompted to enter the name of the person you want to authorize in the “Name” field; then select whether they are an employer, school official or other contact who needs access to your transcript. Select “Continue” after entering their information.
You will then receive a confirmation email with instructions on how they can pick up your transcript at our office location.

The cost of a transcript depends on how it is ordered and where it will be sent. The following table details the fees associated with each type of transcript:
- Transcripts ordered through Loyola’s secure MySHORT system are $10 each and can be paid for with a credit card or PayPal account. Transcripts ordered through mail require payment in advance by check or money order only, payable to Loyola University Chicago, before they can be processed. Transcript requests must be received no later than 5 business days before the requested delivery date to ensure that you receive your documents by that date (if you need them sooner, please contact us). Please note that even if we receive your request before the deadline date listed above, it may take up to 2 business days for us to process it so please plan accordingly when requesting transcripts.*
Effective May 15, 2018 all in person requests for transcripts will require a valid form of identification from the person or third party that is picking up the transcript. Your order will not be processed until you present valid identification when you come to pick up your transcript.

The person or third party that is picking up the transcript must present a valid form of identification at Loyola University Chicago’s Office of Student Records & Registrar Services located in Room 112 on level 1 of St. James Hall (1000 W. Sheridan Rd.).
Transcript Options
Electronic PDF Transcript
The electronic PDF transcript allows you to self-print and email your official Loyola University Chicago transcript to other colleges or employers. The processing time for this option is typically same day, but may take up to three business days.
- Electronic PDF Transcript Fee $10 (nonrefundable)
- Paper Transcript Fee $10 (nonrefundable)
Same Day Pickup Transcripts are available if you are requesting a paper diploma or if you would like an electronic document sent via email on the same day it’s processed by our office. A picture ID must be presented at pickup; please allow at least 30 minutes for processing.* Same Day Pickup Transcript Fee: $25 per copy
Electronic PDF Transcript (this option can take anywhere from a few hours to 7 business days)

A PDF transcript is an electronic version of your paper transcript. It can be processed in as little as a few hours, though it may take up to 7 business days. The cost of this type of transcript is $10.00 USD per copy and there are no other requirements when ordering this type of transcript (other than uploading the file).

An electronic transcript is any form of record that has been converted from its original format or medium into a digital form and stored electronically. Students interested in applying for college admission can request their official transcripts be sent electronically by choosing one or more options on their application(s).
Same Day Pickup Transcript (for students picked up at the Lake Shore Campus Registrar’s Office, Monday – Friday during normal business hours only.)
To pick up your transcript in person, you should visit the Lake Shore Campus Registrar’s Office. You will need to bring a valid form of ID with you in order to receive your transcript. If you are picking up your transcript by mail, please refer to the mailing options below:
- If you live within the United States and are picking up your transcripts from our Chicago campus or from any other location in the United States other than Chicago, please use one of these options:
- Place an order online using our secure server at https://transcripts.luc.edu/transcripts/publicPortal/index.do?mode=login&languageId=en-US_us&welcomePageId=1_2_1&userId=myLUCID#step2#step3; this option is available 24 hours a day 7 days per week (except during holidays when our offices are closed)

Same Day with Student Signature Transcript (for students picked up at the Lake Shore Campus Registrar’s Office, Monday – Friday during normal business hours only.)
To obtain same day with student signature transcripts, you must:
- Be present to sign the transcript.
- Provide a valid form of identification.
- Provide your current LUC student ID number (i.e., barcode printed on the back of your LUC ID).
- Provide the name and address of the person or institution to which you are sending the transcript (unless it is being mailed directly to Fordham University).
