Memorial University Of Newfoundland Masters Programs

Memorial University of Newfoundland is one of the most prestigious universities in Canada, and it has a long history of being a leader in higher education. It was founded in 1925 as Newfoundland Technical College and was later renamed Memorial University College. In 1949, it became Memorial University of Newfoundland, and it took on its current name after becoming a public university in 1969. The university is located on the east coast of Canada near St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador’s capital city. Today, over 20 000 students study at this institution (including 5000 international students), which offers undergraduate degrees through three different colleges: Arts & Humanities; Science; and Engineering & Applied Science.

Master of Science (MSc)

A Master of Science is a postgraduate academic degree awarded by universities in many countries. One must first obtain a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or its equivalent degree, usually in the field of study that one wishes to pursue. Continuing education at this level may also be referred to as graduate school.

Master of Engineering (MEng)

The Master of Engineering (MEng) program is a two-year program designed to prepare you for a career in engineering. It offers a flexible curriculum, allowing you to customize your coursework according to your desired career path. The MEng degree can be completed as either a thesis or non-thesis option, depending on whether you wish to partake in research and writing your own thesis paper.

Courses offered include:

  • Principles of Communication Systems Design and Development – 3 credits
  • Fundamentals of Instrumentation – 3 credits
  • Electrical Engineering Laboratory – 1 credit

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

An MBA is a professional degree that takes at least two years to complete. It is intended for students who want to pursue careers in management, and it generally has a high earning potential because of its practical nature.

While you can apply for an MBA program before receiving your bachelor’s degree, it’s typically recommended that you already have one before beginning the course. This means that if your plan is to earn a master’s degree in business administration (MBA), you’ll need first-hand experience working with businesses in some capacity—either through internships or apprenticeships or previous employment within the field. The reasons behind this are twofold: firstly, most schools require applicants to hold at least three years’ worth of work experience prior to applying; secondly, having this kind of background knowledge will help ensure that there’s no lag between learning concepts on paper and being able to apply them practically when interacting with others on campus or even within your own organization once accepted into an MBA program itself

Master of Education (M.Ed.)

  • Master of Education (M.Ed.)

The goal of the Master of Education program is to develop a new generation of teachers and school administrators who are able to lead their profession towards excellence. The degree has been designed to provide students with the knowledge, competencies, research skills and practical experiences necessary for them to become leaders in education at all levels from pre-service through to senior management positions.

Masters of Public Health (MPH)

The Master of Public Health (MPH) is a professional degree designed to prepare students in the field of public health. This degree is terminal, meaning that it is intended to be the last academic degree in a student’s education before they enter the workforce; however, there are some circumstances where some students may be able to continue their studies and earn a doctorate. Upon completion, graduates are eligible for certification by the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM), which allows them to work as public health professionals with some states requiring licensure in order to practice.

The MPH combines coursework with hands-on experience through internships or research projects under faculty supervision. You will gain expertise in areas such as epidemiology and biostatistics while developing your communication skills both orally and written form

Master of Applied Science (MASc)

MASc is a full-time program that requires two years of study. The MASc program is research-based and is recommended for students with an undergraduate degree in science, math or engineering. This degree will qualify you for careers in industry, government or academia.

Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (MSIS)

MSIS is a one-year, interdisciplinary program that is offered by the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Graduate Studies. This program is designed for students who want to focus on an interdisciplinary topic of their choice. The MSIS coursework takes place over three semesters, with two terms (fall and winter) full-time attendance in St John’s followed by one term off campus doing research or working on projects with faculty members.

The goal of this program is to promote critical thinking skills necessary for success in graduate school or professional life. Students will gain knowledge about their chosen topic through classroom lectures, seminars, field trips and hands-on experiments. Students will also have opportunities to collaborate with other students from different disciplines as well as professionals from non-university settings such as government organizations or industry partners
