Minnesota Colleges That Offer Nursing

Nursing is a growing industry, meaning that nursing degrees can be extremely valuable. And while some people may choose to go the traditional route and attend nursing school after high school, there are other options for those who don’t have time or money to spare. That’s where these colleges come in! The following Minnesota colleges offer accelerated nursing programs so students can graduate quickly and with less debt.

Anoka-Ramsey Community College

Bemidji State University

Bemidji State University is a public university in Bemidji, Minnesota. It offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in Nursing Administration.

Bethel University

Bethel University is a private, liberal arts university located in Arden Hills, Minnesota. The college offers accelerated nursing programs through its School of Nursing and Health Sciences that allow students to complete their bachelor’s degree in four years instead of the traditional five.

Century College

Century College is a public, two-year community college that offers a variety of programs. One such program is nursing. This program prepares students to become licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and registered nurses (RNs), who can work in hospitals, clinics, doctor’s offices and other settings. The nursing program at Century College is designed for those who want to transfer into a bachelor’s degree nursing program after earning their LPN or RN degrees at Century College.

Century College’s campus sits on the northern edge of White Bear Lake, Minnesota—a small town surrounded by lakes and forests. Hennepin Technical College is a public technical college located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, United States. It was founded in 1964 as Hennepin Vocational-Technical Center. The school was renamed Hennepin Technical College in 2003.

Minnesota State Community and Technical College

Minnesota State Community and Technical College is a public community college located in Fergus Falls, MN. The school offers a two-year nursing program with a focus on clinical experience that leads to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.

The Minnesota State Board of Nursing accredits the program, which is designed for students who want to pursue bachelor’s degrees in nursing or other health care fields upon completion. Students are required to complete 80 credits for graduation as well as fieldwork hours at local hospitals and clinics during their first year of study. The associate degree program accepts students who have completed their GED or high school diploma requirements; however, you must be eligible for admission into your state’s nursing programs before applying to this one.

Minnesota State University – Mankato

The College of Nursing is the only college within Minnesota State University-Mankato that provides a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. It offers the following programs:

The accelerated BSN to MSN program allows students to earn bachelor and master degrees on their way to becoming a nurse practitioner or clinical specialist. The Accelerated MSN to PhD program allows nurses with an existing MSN degree to continue their education and become professors or researchers at Minnesota State University – Mankato.

Minnesota West Community & Technical College

• Minnesota West Community & Technical College is a public two-year college with campuses located in Canby, Jackson and Pipestone.
• MN West offers a variety of programs including nursing, automotive technology and business management to name a few.
• The college also offers accelerated nursing programs which can be completed in just two years as well as an online RN program for those who prefer to complete their studies on the internet.
• MN West is a member of the Minnesota State system of colleges but has its own separate accreditation process so it cannot receive federal funding such as Pell grants or Stafford loans like other state schools do but instead relies solely on local tax revenues such as property taxes from those living within its geographical area which include Canby Township (MN), Jackson County (MN), Pipestone County (MN) along with other nearby counties within southeastern Minnesota

Northwest Technical Institute of Minnesota Inc. – Anoka County Campus (Accelerated Nursing)

Northwest Technical Institute (NWTC) is an accredited institution that offers a variety of programs at its six campuses. The Anoka County Campus is located in Ramsey, Minnesota and is NWTC’s largest campus.

The Accelerated Nursing program at NWTC prepares you to become a registered nurse (RN), allowing you to earn your degree in just nine months as opposed to the typical two years. As a graduate, you’ll be qualified for entry-level positions as an RN in hospitals, clinics and other healthcare settings.

If you want to work outside of the hospital setting but still enjoy helping people heal and recover physically or mentally, consider becoming a licensed practical nurse (LPN). The program at this campus will get you there: after graduating from the LPN program, you’ll be eligible for licensure by either state boards or national organizations such as National Association of Practical Nurse Education & Service Incorporated.

Rasmussen School of Nursing and Allied Health – Eagan Campus (Accelerated Nursing)

Rasmussen College’s Accelerated Nursing program is an accelerated, two-year nursing program that can be completed in as little as 15 months. The college has campuses across the country and offers programs in a variety of healthcare fields, including a BSN program, LPN/LVN to BSN option and MSN degree completion.

The Eagan campus is located on 1550 Eagan-Burnsville Road in Eagan and offers classes at three different times throughout the day: 7:45am-12pm; 1pm-5pm; 5:15pm-8:15pm (Monday through Thursday).

Alternatively you could enroll in the accelerated version which allows you skip some core classes BUT costs more ($75k+) due to increased course load during those four years–making it really only worth doing if money isn’t really an issue!
