We offer courses including Diploma in Nursing Science (Fully registered Community Health Nursing) and Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BscN).

The deadline for application is 31st July 2021 and late applications will be accepted with a fee after this date until August 30th 2021 subject to availability of spaces and also whether an admission test shall be conducted or not due to Covid-19 situation at the time of application deadline

  • Admission into the School of Nursing is done once a year in January/February on Government sponsorship under the Ministry of Health through the Nursing Council of Kenya. Application forms can be collected from our school office during normal working hours. Applicants for Certificate Courses must have an aggregate mean grade of C+ and above at KCSE or its equivalent. For Diploma Courses, aspiring students must have a minimum aggregate mean grade of C+ (plus) with at least grade B- in English or Kiswahili, Biology and Chemistry; and a pass in Mathematics or Physics at KCSE or its equivalent, or a first degree with at least 2nd class honors lower division from any recognized university. All applicants are required to sit for an interview conducted by the Moi University School of Nursing Admissions Board. The general hospital fees payable are kshs 50000 per year (Excluding accommodation).

Mbagathi District Hospital School Of Nursing is a government institution that offers training in nursing programs. The school is located in Nairobi County, Ngong sub-county along Kangundo Road, behind the National Museum on its left side. The school offers a Diploma in Nursing and a Diploma in Community Health Nursing.

  • Caution Money: 2,500/= refundable at the end of course upon submission of the receipt
  • Tuition Fee: 9,000/= per term payable at the beginning of each term
  • Development levy: 5,000/= per year payable during registration

Requirements for admission include a certificate or diploma in any of their courses. The institution also offers an enrollment opportunity for those who already have experience in the field but are looking to add more qualifications to their resume. For example, it has a specialized course for medical assistants and clinical officers. This course will enable them to get an upgrade on their careers as nurses so that they can be more competent when providing care for patients in hospitals and clinics. It will also give them better opportunities with regards to job security because employers prefer employees who have higher qualifications than just basic certificates or diplomas when hiring staff members into positions where they need specialized skills such as nursing assistants or clinical officers

Murang’a District Hospital School Of Nursing.

Murang’a District Hospital School Of Nursing is one of the public nursing training schools in Kenya. It offers both certificate and diploma courses in nursing. This is a government-owned institution which strictly admits Diploma and Certificate candidates who have met the entry requirements as per ministry of education guidelines. The school also provides accommodation for its students although some get outside hostels. It’s located on Murang’a-Kigumo Road, near Murang’a District Hospital, a few kilometers from Murang’a town CBD, Midlands Hotel and opposite Njiiri Teachers Training College.

The school was established in the year 1943 as a dispensary by colonial masters to serve the people of muranga and surrounding areas with healthcare services but later in 1945 it was elevated to hospital status (Muranga district hospital). In 1976, it started offering short term courses for enrolled nurses. Later in 1994 it became a registered training institution (for Enrolled Nurses) with Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC). In 1996 the school opened up for enrollment of Kenyan citizens from all walks of life who wish to pursue either EN or DN course at KMTC Muranga campus

Garissa Provincial General Hospital School Of Nursing.

Garissa Provincial General Hospital School Of Nursing:

The Garissa Provincial General Hospital School of Nursing is located along the Garissa-Wajir Road, in Garissa county. The school is situated 300m from the main road and has a hostel for students within its premises.

The hospital also allows students to undertake internship programs in their facility, as part of the course.
