Nurse practitioner programs at the University of Illinois at Chicago are available on a full-time or part-time basis and can be completed in between 36 and 24 months. As far as degrees go, UIC offers master’s, doctorates and post-masters certificates.

The tuition cost for UIC’s DNP program is $1,107 per credit hour for residents of Illinois, and $1,256 for out of state residents. The MSN program costs between $24,000-$30,000 for resident students and $32,000-$39,000 for non-residents.

In order to be admitted into the DNP program at UIC you must hold an active nursing license in the state of Illinois and have either a bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. In addition to the above requirements applicants must submit three letters of recommendation; one from their current supervisor that includes information regarding their professional level practice should come from within the last year; a personal statement; proof of their current work as a nurse practitioner; official transcripts as well as GRE scores can also be helpful but aren’t required unless your GPA is below 3.0

Indiana Wesleyan University

Indiana Wesleyan University was founded in 1920 as Marion College. It is a private Christian liberal arts university that contracts with several community colleges, which allows students to complete their associate degrees and bachelor’s degrees at the same time.

IWU has more than 80 undergraduate academic programs and five graduate programs from which to choose. The nursing program offers a BSN, an RN-to-BSN option, and a master of science in nursing (MSN) degree with six specializations. Students may also earn certificates as family nurse practitioners or adult-geriatric clinical nurse specialists.

IWU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and the baccalaureate and graduate programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
