University of Houston

The University of Houston offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The nursing program is also approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.

The BSN program takes four semesters to complete. Students pursuing an associate degree are required to complete two years of prerequisite coursework before beginning their nursing studies. The university has an articulation agreement with several colleges in Texas, which helps students matriculate into the BSN program at UH upon completion of their associate degree.

Qualified students can apply for admission after completing 59 credits, including all prerequisite courses and nursing core courses up until NURS 3310: Management of Patient Care I. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in all college-level coursework and a minimum grade C in all science courses completed.
