UNN is located in the southeastern part of Nigeria. It offers nursing as an undergraduate course, and the school fees are reasonable compared to other schools in Nigeria. The school offers several highly rated facilities on its campus and has one of the largest medical centers in Africa.

The school of nursing in the University of Lagos was established on the 9th of May, 1972 and has trained more than 5,000 nurses since then. The school has a total of 40 academic staff members and its student population is over 450 students at present. This gives it a student to staff ratio of 10:1. The school is also famous for having a high pass rate and it has no religious affiliation.

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is a federal government-owned tertiary institution located in Osun state. The university was established in 1962. OAU offers about 140 undergraduate courses, including nursing and midwifery which falls under the Faculty of Health Sciences. Nursing school at OAU offers degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and PhD levels. Students can choose to major in adult, community and mental health nursing, child health or midwifery.
The school fees for full time study for residents of Nigeria are N150,000 per session while the fees for non-resident students from other African countries is $1500 per year. For international students from other countries outside Africa, they will pay $2500 annually if they want to study nursing or midwifery at OAU.
The school provides scholarships to bright students who are also indigent but this applies only to undergraduates and not postgraduate students in nursing school at OAU. Lagos State University is a state government owned and operated Nigerian university. The university has three campuses within Lagos State, which include Ojo, Epe and Surulere. Prospective students are expected to have 5 credits in relevant O’Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
