The University of Texas at Austin

The University of Texas at Austin is one of the largest colleges in the country, boasting over 51,000 students. This public research university was founded in 1883 and has since expanded to have a campus that is surrounded by many amenities. Students can enjoy dining, shopping and culture nearby their school.

There are over 170 academic programs offered at UT Austin, including nursing. They also have an international student office dedicated to helping non-native English speakers find resources on campus and help with housing or other needs they may have while studying abroad.

Tuition costs are around $10,000 per year for non-Texas residents and financial aid is available for those who qualify.

Boston College is a private, Jesuit university located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts that enrolls more than 14,000 undergraduate and graduate students. University of Washington is home to the only nursing school within a 450-mile radius. The School of Nursing at University of Washington offers two master’s degree tracks, including a direct-entry option for students with non-nursing bachelor’s degrees. Johns Hopkins University

Johns Hopkins University is a private institution that was founded in 1876. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 6,109, its setting is urban, and the campus size is 140 acres. Admission requirements: For the accelerated program, an undergraduate degree in a field other than nursing with a minimum GPA of 3.2 and at least one year of full-time study or equivalent. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are required. International students whose native language is not English must take the TOEFL and achieve a score of 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based), or 100 (internet-based). Students may be exempt from the TOEFL if they have completed an undergraduate degree at a U.S.-accredited college or university where English is the medium of instruction for all courses or if they hold certification from an approved ESL program that also includes a certificate stating completion of high school level English composition/writing coursework. For international applicants seeking F1 visas, Columbia requires that their TOEFL scores be no older than 2 years old from the start date of their program; for Canadian applicants seeking F1 visas, Columbia requires that their TOEFL scores be no older than 1 year old from the start date of their program; for all other applicants seeking F1 visas, Columbia does not require any age limit on TOEFL scores.

Yale University

Located in New Haven, Connecticut and commonly referred to as the “Elm City” after the city’s many elm trees, Yale University is a private research university founded in 1701. The student body includes over 5,200 undergraduate students and 6,000 graduate and professional students. There are 14 residential colleges on campus—places where students eat, sleep, and work—and each one has its own unique architectural style. Yale has an acceptance rate of 6.8%, which means that out of all the applications they receive, only 6.8% are admitted. As one of the top universities in the world, Yale is ranked 4th in the nation according to U.S. News & World Report for 2020-2021 among national universities (these rankings change often).

The University of Pennsylvania is a private Ivy League research university in Philadelphia. Founded in 1740 by Benjamin Franklin, Penn is the sixth-oldest institution of higher education in the United States. It is one of 14 founding members of the Association of American Universities and one of the nine original Colonial Colleges. The university has four undergraduate schools which provide a combined 99 undergraduate majors in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. It also has 12 graduate and professional schools. In addition to being one of the top nursing schools in America, Penn is also ranked as one of America’s top universities for psychological services training programs as well as among America’s medical schools with the best psychiatry programs.

Duke University

Duke University is located in Durham, North Carolina. The school has 6,819 students enrolled on a full time basis. Duke University ranks 14th in the country for nursing schools and overall it ranks 7th in the United States.

Tuition at Duke University is $5,050 per year for in-state students, and $46,047 per year for out-of-state students.

The program allows you to earn your Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees within four years of enrollment through its innovative Accelerated Bachelor’s Program. Purdue University—West Lafayette

Purdue University—West Lafayette is #9 in Best Nursing Schools.
