General entry requirements for Auckland University of Technology are as follows:

CPIT Christchurch

At CPIT, you will learn from a team of nursing experts and have the opportunity to apply your knowledge in real life situations. “We have really good relationships with all of our clinical partners,” says Eliza Barrow, Dean of Nursing. The Christchurch campus is one of the largest tertiary institutes in New Zealand and has excellent facilities for nursing students, including a fully equipped simulation laboratory to practice your skills on mannequins before getting hands-on experience at partner hospitals and healthcare providers. You can also take advantage of on-campus accommodation if you need it.

When you graduate at CPIT with a nursing qualification, you’ll be ready for anything: “We’ve got graduates working right across the spectrum – in ICU [intensive care unit] areas as well as GP practices,” says Eliza Barrow.

Massey University – Albany, Wellington and Palmerston North

Massey University – Albany, Wellington and Palmerston North, New Zealand. For all three locations, students must be enrolled for the equivalent of two years full time study to complete the program (ie. 120 points). The part time option requires a minimum period of three years to complete the program.

This is a single entry nursing degree program which prepares graduates to work as registered nurses with adults who have medical/surgical conditions or children in primary health care or hospital settings. Graduates are also eligible for registration as registered nurses within the scope of practice defined by the Nursing Council of New Zealand and will have been introduced to research theory and practice through undertaking independent research and writing up a dissertation under supervision.

Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin and Invercargill

Otago Polytechnic is the only tertiary provider in New Zealand that offers a postgraduate diploma in mental health nursing. It’s located in Dunedin and Invercargill.

The University of Auckland offers post-graduate study and is located in the Auckland, Manukau and Waitemata Districts. It is the largest school of nursing in New Zealand, with over 700 students enrolling each year out of 2,000 who apply. The University of Auckland offers a Bachelor of Nursing (BN), Bachelor of Midwifery (BMid) or Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) degrees.

University of Canterbury – Canterbury District

You can attend the University of Canterbury at their campus in the city of Christchurch, which is located in the Canterbury District. There are two campuses for the University of Canterbury, one in Christchurch and one in Auckland.
