Nalinya Lwantale School of Nursing
Nalinya Lwantale School of Nursing is located in Kitwe, Uganda.
The school was started in 1987 by the late Dr. Lwantale who was a Medical Doctor and a pioneer of Nsambya Hospital. The school has gone on to produce very competent nurses and midwives.
The courses offered at Nalinya Lwantale School of Nursing are:
Certificate course in Community Health Nursing (Bridge). This is a two-year course offered to those with only A’level qualifications or its equivalent.
Certificate course in Midwifery (Bridge). This is a two year course offered to those with only A’level qualifications or its equivalent.
Mbale School of Nursing
The Mbale School of Nursing and Midwifery is a public nursing school in Uganda, the third-largest economy in the East African Community.
Overview
The Mbale School of Nursing and Midwifery was established as an institution of higher learning in 1936, as one of the departments under Mbale Hospital. It became independent from the hospital administration in 1987. The school is located on Plot 21, Nagongera Road, P.O Box 486, Mbale Municipality, Mbale District, Eastern Uganda. It sits on 20acre of land donated to it by the colonial administration at its establishment for that purpose.
As a public institution of higher education in Uganda’s health sciences sector, with curriculum accredited by the Directorate of Education Standards (DES), under the Ministry of Education & Sports (MoES), graduates receive full registration and licensure from practicing professions administered by professional councils constituted under Acts of Parliament. This includes: The Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC)]]], which licenses eligible trained nurses to practice; and The Allied Health Professionals Council(AHPC).
Agakhan School of Nursing
The Aga Khan School of Nursing, Kisumu was established in 1960. The school is located off Nairobi-Kisumu road, at the junction to Kisumu Airport. The institution has a capacity of 76 student nurses with 27 staff members.
