Nursing
Nursing is one of the most respected professions in the world. Nurses are caring and compassionate, and they’re always in demand.
To become a nurse, you must first complete an accredited nursing degree program. These programs are offered at the associate’s level, bachelor’s level, and master’s level. Some nurses opt to earn their associate’s degree before transferring on to a bachelor’s program while others enter directly into a bachelor’s program after high school graduation. A master’s degree is also an optional advanced education choice for nurses who want to work as administrators or teach other nurses in training.
Nurses can work in a variety of different settings including hospitals, private practices with doctors, patients’ homes, schools, or even nursing homes or retirement homes for the elderly. No matter what type of setting you choose to practice nursing in you will be able to advance your career with further education and certification through on-the-job training courses or additional college courses taken at night or online from home.
Why should you become a nurse?
In today’s modern world, nurses play a pivotal role in society. Nurses are not only responsible for the care of their patients but also for helping them on their path to recovery. Nurses are taught to think critically and on a deeper level about the issues affecting their patients, going beyond medication and medications alone. There is also a dire need for nurses in today’s world, making it an extremely viable career path.
Nurses are given the opportunity to choose from a variety of career paths when they enter this field. There is no singular way to become a nurse as there are many different roles that you can play within this profession. Nurses can work in hospitals, hospices, schools or even private homes as personal caregivers for elderly people who want to maintain their independence.
Nurses have the unique ability to provide care wherever they may be needed which gives them greater flexibility over other professions where one must stay within his/her own geographic location (or be willing to relocate). As medical technology has improved throughout history so too has nursing evolved into what it is today; with advancements such as electronic medical records now available online there is no limit as to how far medicine will go!

LPN Advanced Placement Program (LPN-RN)
This is the program for students who are passionate about becoming a licensed practical nurse and would like to advance to a higher level in their studies. During your first year, you’ll earn an associate’s degree that provides you with a broad foundation of information. From there, you’ll progress through four years of coursework, gaining practical nursing skills while also learning more theoretical aspects of the field. You’ll have the opportunity to specialize in your area of interest (emergency intervention and obstetrics) while studying under faculty experts in this specialized area. The classes will focus on real-world applications as well as full responsibility for patient care. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to complete your clinical experience at one of Valencia’s hospitals or clinics under the direct supervision of licensed LPNs during every semester you’re enrolled in school (in our case this means beginning with prerequisites).
This is one program that we’ve always been proud to be part of and we strongly recommend it!
