KINTAMPO COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES

Kintampo College of Health Sciences is a public college in Ghana. It is one of the first public universities in Ghana and a constituent college of the University of Ghana.

It was established in 1962 as Kintampo Government Hospital School of Nursing by then President Kwame Nkrumah. In 1967, it became a tertiary institution renamed Kintampo Government Technical Institute with five departments: Social Studies, Medical Science, Nursing Science, Secretarial Studies and Business Studies. The nursing department was split into two: Basic Nursing Training School and Basic Medical Laboratory Technician Training School (BMLTTS). In 1982 it was upgraded to full technical institute status.

In 1998 it became a degree-awarding institution known as Kintampo Polytechnic under the Ministry of Education before being granted university status three years later on 1 July 2001 as KNUST-Kumasi Campus with four faculties: Agriculture & Environmental Management; Arts & Humanities; Engineering; Natural & Applied Sciences.

NAVRONGO MIDWIFERY TRAINING COLLEGE

The Navrongo Midwifery Training College is a public institution located in the town of Navrongo, Ghana. It offers a Bachelor of Health Science in Nursing degree program that accepts students with at least a Diploma 7 certificate. Students who have completed Diploma 8 or 9 may also apply to this program.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of Ordinary Diploma certificate from the Uganda Nursing and Midwifery Council with at least C+ grade in relevant subjects from recognized colleges. The applicants must also have at least five years post qualification experience in Government or Private Health Institutions with a minimum of two years’ experience in practical delivery of services to patients as well as students while undergoing internship training period with valid practicing certificate issued by the National Council for Higher Education in Uganda or its equivalent. All candidates shall be required to pay non refundable application fee of UGX 100,000/- per candidate towards administrative costs on their behalf upon submission of their application forms together with other required documents such as copies of academic transcripts and testimonials which are expected to be submitted before August 31st 2019 only

SCHOOL OF MEDICAL SCIENCES,KUMASI

The School of Medical Sciences, Kumasi is a nursing training college that accepts D7 and CGPAs. The school’s website states that students must have at least a C+ in their A-levels to be admitted into the program.

The School of Medical Sciences, Kumasi also accepts D7s with a GPA between 2:2 and 3:4 for admission into its nursing programs. Students who have achieved a GPA between 1:1 and 2:1 may be considered on an individual basis by the school’s admissions board; however, these students are required to present additional evidence when applying for admission.

There are a number of nursing schools in Ghana that accept D7 and other entry requirements, including:
