Two brothers who have not seen each other in a long time, at this point, everyone would be happy to see each other, but… of course you know what I’m talking about when I say ‘but’. If he showed up at Luffy’s house wearing fine clothes and formal shoes, it wouldn’t be like Ace at all. It seems like the first thing he did after setting foot on land was to go visit his little brother.

Luffy hasn’t changed much since the last time Ace saw him…. That is, except for his height! Luffy has grown a lot!! And even though it has only been two years… he doesn’t seem as small anymore!! He still wears short pants though! You can really tell that he can no longer keep up with his older brother in terms of height.

Luffy didn’t like what the Marine Vice Admiral said and tried to speak out, but Ace stopped him with his hand and told him not to.

Ace did not want Luffy to be involved in the battle. He wanted to protect Luffy so he could continue his dreams of becoming a pirate and finding the One Piece. After all, this was the duty of a big brother!

Ace had grown up now, and because of that he was able to protect himself. Luffy was still young — too young to be involved with such matters.

Luffy had seen Ace’s appearance change a lot since the last time he saw him, but Luffy thought that Ace looked cool as ever.

Ace’s appearance had changed a lot since the last time Luffy saw him. His hair was longer, slightly curlier and less spiky, but still retained its jet black coloration. His face had sharpened and there was a scar running down the right side of his face with his right eye covered by an eyepatch. He now wore black jacket over a white shirt with a red skull in the middle, black pants and black boots with pale bandages wrapped around his shins and feet. He also wore two large bands on both of his arms below his shoulders along with what looked like handcuffs connected to chains. Luffy thought that Ace looked cool as ever!

Ace was one of my favorite characters in this series, so seeing these two brothers together again makes me really happy!

You could say that the bond between brothers Ace and Luffy is one of my favorite parts of the series. With Ace being one of my top three One Piece characters, I always had an invested interest in how Luffy felt about his brother’s death. It’s been a while since we’ve seen these two together, but seeing Luffy flash that same smile he had when they were talking to each other as kids (or in their first reunion) shows that what they have hasn’t changed much despite the time apart.

It’s a good reminder that this stoic pirate king is still a kid at heart and carries the same emotions he did before he became king. After all, his ears didn’t droop back then, did they? Maybe it’s just me craving more content from them both after decades without any new material, but I’m really glad to see these two brothers reunited again, even if only for a moment!
