Master’s Degree in Equine Chiropractic
A master’s degree is a post-graduate degree that you can earn after you get your bachelor’s degree. It usually takes one to two years to complete, and it involves classes, lab work and often a thesis project. Some schools require that you first earn a bachelor’s degree in chiropractic care before applying for the master’s program. If not, then most schools require that you have at least four years of training in this field.
Equine Chiropractic Certification Course
This intensive online course is approved by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA), and will be taught by leading equine chiropractor Dr. Stephen Krauss. This course covers the fundamentals of equine chiropractic, as well as more advanced concepts in anatomy and physiology, biomechanics and kinesiology, medical terminology, neurology, spinal palpation and adjustment techniques, clinical indicators of joint dysfunction in horses and much more.
The entire course includes over 40 hours of lecture videos (30+ hours for Part 1 and 10+ hours for Part 2) from Dr. Krauss’ live seminar, plus a comprehensive set of lecture notes covering everything covered in the video lectures. You can complete this part-time certification at your own pace: no time limit to finish the course! Upon successful completion of both Parts 1 & 2, you will receive an AVCA-approved certificate that demonstrates your proficiency in equine chiropractic to employers or clients!
The cost for this certification is $1120 USD (or 3 payments of $500 USD), including all AVCA fees. Note that there are no prerequisites for this course! No prior knowledge or experience with horses or veterinary medicine is necessary: just a passion for helping animals feel their best! Continuing Education for Equine Chiropractors
This is an intensive two-day course that offers in-depth training and instruction on a variety of topics related to equine chiropractic. The topics covered include:
- How the spine affects muscular function and the horse’s gait
- Treatment options for common complaints caused by restricted joints, including trigeminal neuralgia (TMJ), peri-orbital neuropathy, back pain and asymmetrical gait
- Effective stretching techniques to improve the horse’s range of motion, as well as its overall attitudes towards training
- A focused hands-on approach to learning how to identify problem areas and treat them successfully
