Özyeğin Foundation is an independent, nongovernmental and nonprofit organization established in 1989. The foundation’s main purpose is to support the education of young people in Turkey, aiming to provide equal opportunities for all by giving scholarships to those who are in need.
The Özyeğin Foundation has been supporting the özyeğin University since 2007 with its endowment capital. Founded in 2007, özyeğin University is a private non-profit university located in Istanbul/Turkey. At its first year, özyeğin University started with 220 students admitted to the undergraduate programs of International Trade and Finance and International Relations (double major). In 2008, a new undergraduate program was opened: Business Administration double major with three concentrations–Finance, Marketing and Human Resources Management. The first diploma awarding ceremony was held on June 15th 2011 when 32 graduates received their diplomas from the School of Economics and Administrative Sciences (SEAS). In 2012 a new school was founded: Engineering Science and Technology. At its first year it offers two majors–Computer Engineering and Industrial Engineering; each having 28 students enrolled.

With a view to the growing demand for an international business school for Turkey and the surrounding countries, Özyeğin University was founded in 2007 by Mr. Hüsnü M. Özyeğin as a private non-profit university under Turkish law. In 2008, the Turkish Ministry of Education approved the establishment of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Since then, we have also established academic units in engineering and applied sciences as well as social science and humanities.
In 2014, Özyeğin University received its first accreditation from ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) for its computer science program after only three years since its founding. The university is also accredited by the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK), an independent body operating under Turkish law as part of the Ministry of National Education that oversees education in Turkey’s universities.
It is one of the best universities in Turkey with a focus on international cooperation and an emphasis on social responsibility, ethics and sustainability.
OzU was founded in 2007 within the context of a formal agreement between the özyeğin Family and the Turkish Ministry of Education. In this agreement, the Turkish Ministry of Education approved the establishment of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences for özyeğin University. The Founding Rector is Professor Philip Altbach, who served as Chairperson at Boston College from 1999 to 2006.
The university has a focus on international cooperation and an emphasis on social responsibility, ethics and sustainability. It aims to become one of Turkey’s leading universities with a strong regional role and global visibility; it is expected that by 2023 when Turkey celebrates its centennial anniversary, ÖzU will be among Turkey’s top 10 universities (according to world rankings) in terms of quality education and research.

Özyeğin University is offering scholarships for undergraduate students in all academic programs to do their studies there. Students from any country can apply for the scholarship. The scholarship covers 100% of the tuition fee and 50% of the accommodation fee, provided that students maintain a good academic standing throughout their studies at Özyeğin University.
Students can apply online through http://www.ozyegin.edu.tr/en/admissions/scholarships#BA and need to upload the required documents onto our system by April 7th, 2018 in order to be considered for this scholarship opportunity In addition, they need to have applied (or will apply) and been accepted into one of the undergraduate programs at Özyeğin University by April 30th, 2018 in order to be eligible for this scholarship opportunity Students who receive this scholarship are not allowed to work while studying at Özyeğin University
