General Requirements

To be considered for admission to the University of Utah, you must meet the general requirements listed below. You may also be asked to submit additional materials, such as SAT or ACT scores, letters of recommendation, and essays.

Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA):

To be eligible for admission to the University of Utah, you must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.

Academic Honors:

You are also required to receive academic honors at your previous schools. If you have not received academic honors at your previous schools, you will need to provide documentation that you have attained equivalent levels of academic achievement. This documentation can include your transcript, test scores, and/or letters from your professors.

Test Scores:

You are required to take the SAT or ACT tests. Your score on each test will be used to calculate your cumulative GPA. You are not allowed to submit test scores from any other testing program.

Additional Requirements

University of Utah students should have a minimum 2.0 GPA in high school and take the ACT or SAT. Students must also be interested in attending a university outside of their home state and have a minimum 3.0 GPA at their top-ranked college or university. Finally, they must submit an application essay that addresses why they want to attend the University of Utah.

Deadlines

To be considered for admission to the University of Utah, you must complete the following requirements:
