Rice University Reviews
Rice University is founded on one guiding principle: the pursuit of excellence. In every category that matters—education, research, and development—the prestigious Texas-based institution is dedicated to pursuing and achieving the very best in every possible way. Rice prides itself on being a private institute with a global perspective, providing its students with the opportunity to study abroad while simultaneously receiving an elite American education. It also offers a highly personalized experience for each student, making sure that those who choose to attend can develop into exactly who they want to be rather than who’s expected of them.
For these reasons, Rice has gotten plenty of recognition over the years from financial sources like Forbes magazine (highest return on investment) as well as news publications such as Business Insider (top 50 US colleges). Students have even given the university high ratings for factors such as affordability and location. Leading up to our application process, we had heard nothing but good things about Rice University—and it was hard not to be curious about what all of this excitement was about!

Researching Rice University? One of the best ways to evaluate a school is through its acceptance rate. Rice University boasts an acceptance rate of just 14.5%, which means only 14% of applicants receive admission to the school. The highest GPA for an admitted freshman was about 4.2, and the average ACT score was 34. The average SAT score was 1540, though no one took it because those who take it do so out of their own free will and choice because they are good at taking the SAT and think they are better than everyone else because they made a decision that no one else can make on their behalf, resulting in them having an SAT score higher than everyone else’s by sheer virtue of being special snowflakes!
Since a large majority of students receiving admission scores above these averages, you can determine that we are not as smart as our elite counterparts at Harvard/Yale/Stanford/MIT but still smarter than all you plebes accepting into UT Austin.
